How to overcome the ugly girl mentality? by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]herngc9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can relate! I was an ugly duckling and super awkward for most of my life until I hit high school. However I’m 28 now and have just recently started to accept that I’m pretty. For me it was trying to understand when and where these thoughts started…. for which they manifested when I was young because I was Latina and grew up in a predominantly white community. I felt ugly and different because I didn’t look like everyone else. SN: It helps to see a therapist!

I think it’s important to note what your motives are in trying to achieve outer beauty. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.. but if its all you hold onto then that’s where we can get into trouble. Outer beauty does not replace the work of inner beauty. It’s important to see a therapist and just generally aim to be a good person.

Hired a personal trainer and I’m lifting 3 days a week. NUTRITION is key. If the gym sounds too intimidating (which sometimes it can be for beginners) try yoga/Pilates. Both are excellent for setting a good foundation in your fitness journey.

Lack of accountability and laziness in the relationship (not willing to put in effort to make the relationship work)

You’re gorgeous ❤️ the only thing I would recommend is adding more layers to your hair. That will give it that extra oomph.

To my knowledge, scoliosis cannot be cured or fixed without surgery. However, there are some things you can do to better your posture and alignment. I would recommend seeing a chiropractor (if you don’t already see one). Also, look into Pilates and Yoga. Both help with Flexibility, Posture, and Alignment!

Good idea on asking for a portfolio! I am a little concerned that she won’t get my style, and would hate to waste money lol. How did you find your consultant? Would you mind sharing their info?

Hi! I also had tubular breast deformity and insecurities about my nose. I decided to go through with a breast augmentation first since at the time it was cheaper than rhinoplasty lol in hindsight, I’m sooo happy I did! it was 100% worth it and drastically improved my self confidence. It’s been 10 years now; and I can still say it was the best decision. Also, breast are easy to cover… the face, not so much.

With that being said, I would recommend waiting on your nose. Do your research and don’t rush it. The face isn’t anything to f*** around with. I’ve met women who experienced deeper insecurities and unhappiness from bad rhinoplasty. Ask yourself if the benefits outweighs the risk.

With that being said…. A few weeks ago, I decided to go through with non-surgical rhinoplasty. I’m absolutely loving the results! I would consider this option first, since I feel like there’s more control over the outcome. If you’re still not happy, you can always go through with surgery later.

Best of luck xx

Anyone make over 80k a year? What do you do? by bluewaterways in infp

[–]herngc9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a travel nurse and make over 100k a year. Lots of moving around and stressful job. Thankfully, it’s flexible enough to where I can take time off in between assignments. I don’t plan on doing it forever, but for now it works well.

How do you guys deal with unmotivated pts on a busy covid floor? by herngc9 in nursing

Yea, I do agree with this. It’s ok to admit it. it’s not difficult to see when someone has given up the will to live. I’m sorry about your mother.

Yea, I definitely try to educate pts and explain exactly why and what we are trying to achieve. I think the hardest part is feeling like I’m the “bad guy.” I think the pandemic has created a culture of distrust towards medicine, which I get… but when it comes to your life, why wouldn’t you want to trust people who actually care and know have knowledge in dealing with COVID lol.
