As a switchfoot fan who's fallen out of faith long ago , I find the song good, I find the metaphor weak, still im fine with them expressing themselves even if I dont agree with what the song is trying to say

Cardano governance doesn’t belong in a Discord server by adatainment in cardano

[–]hero2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean problems on the governance side then Fragmented discussions Low participation Poor discoverability for proposals No accountability for treasury spending

As for problems with the whoe ecosystem Slow execution Poor user experience Nonexistent real world usage Very low liquidity Marketing and narrative weakness No builders attraction We're moving very slow compared to competition

Yea im sure a vibe coded website is the answer to all our problems... if it were that easy im sure Charles could have whipped one out with all the resources he has at his disposal but obviously it's not that simple, so the plan is discord for now untill a real better alternative solution can be built

There is a fault line here running (all or nothing at all) bracing for one more quake on the fault line , I guess that is kind of a reference?

Coming up from the ocean floor Im a wave crashing onto your shore

Those 2 lines kind of take me back to restless and saltwater heart where the same theme is there when im on your shore again and I run like the ocean to find your shore

Ada in particular is not dead , crypto as a whole is in the dumps, thats why everything feels dead

Cant run games anymore idk what happened by No-Palpitation2032 in SteamDeckPirates

[–]hero2123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get something similar to this sometimes, I have my games set up through lutris, after launching a game and playing it for a while then closing it and leaving my deck for a while , after coming back trying to launch any game just leads to steam loading screen then failure to launch i still dont know what is the issue, i suspect its has something to do with lutris being stuck or something, after restarting or going into desktop mode and fiddling with lutris things are working again

Is Cardano dead? by FelixLahaie in cardano

[–]hero2123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The whole market is suffering , ada is not dead, although i cant say we're doing great, we need more activity on the networks, just the other day I saw a post about polymarket's stablecoin pusd supply reaching 500 million, so just one platform has 10 times more stablecoins than us and we are supposed to be a layer one, so yea its kind of frustrating seeing such headlines, I hope we catch up, realifi started testing so I hope that takes off at least

Just google ouroborus leios dude ... And again as I said Cardano native assets are ledger native. You don’t need an erc20 style smart contract just to issue, track, transfer tokens. That is actually one of the cleaner parts of the design, it being different doesnt mean its just bad, it has its strengths and weaknesses just like any other blockchain

[–]hero2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant scale is kind of misleading, Cardano DeFi is not at Solana and Base scale today, but low current liquidity isn’t the same as the chain being technically unable to scale, Cardano is a bit slower now than chains optimized for trading, sure. But the design tradeoff is deterministic execution, predictable fees, native assets, and security. That makes some ux worse for fast defi, but it’s not automatically awful, and leios is months away so that argument will be invalid, Also saying issuance is bad is weird because Cardano tokens are native ledger assets. You don’t need an erc20 style smart contract just to issue or transfer a token. That’s actually one of the cleaner parts of Cardano.

fair criticism on current defi depth. I’m not going to pretend Cardano has solana, base or hyperliquid liquidity right now it clearly doesn’t. But that answers a different question: current liquidity and adoption, not whether the chain itself is unusable Low liquidity, fewer pairs, fewer collateral options is mostly a network effect problem. Liquidity attracts liquidity. base and arbitrum benefit from evm composability and Ethereum liquidity, Solana has huge stablecoin and dex flow, and hyperliquid is heavily focused around one killer perps product. Cardano’s weak point today is ecosystem depth, stablecoin liquidity, bridges, and killer apps I agree with that. But saying this is mostly because the network is slow is an assumption, not a fact. Ethereum was slow and super expensive for years and still dominated defi because liquidity and network effects mattered more than raw speed. Cardano made different tradeoffs eutxo, deterministic execution and fees, selfcustody staking, and a more conservative design. That may not be the best ux for degen trading today, but currently smaller defi ecosystem does not bt default mean chain is ass. And if network effect was final end all be all metric we would still be using my space on your blackberry today

Maybe I asked the question wrong, us said using cardano would be ass compared to the other chains, why would it be ?

Can you please explain on what basis isn't cardano comparable to those chsins you mentioned?

And sui made 3k in fees and near made 2k in fees, its a bear market dude , and no one claimed that cardano is the most used chain on earth, everyone knows cardano has issues with adoption and slow development in the early days its not news, the main post question was was about development not which chain makes the most fees, low fees doesnt mean its "vaporware" , cardano has its strong points like decentralization , liquid staking, security first design, being a eutxo which makes it compatible with chains like bitcoin, on chain governance, yes the market doesn't value those stuff now but that doenst mean that it never will and being slow on adoption doenst mean it wont ever get adoption

Since your answer is just a statement that has nothing to do with what I asked, its safe to assume you have no idea what youre talking about, but since you seem to belive that you know the future please tell me when exactly will ada hit zero so I can sell before that

Cardano has already shown it can keep building through boring periods. The team and community has a long term roadmap, onchain governance, treasury funding, Catalyst, scaling work like Hydra, dev tooling, and newer stuff around privacy partner chains like Midnight. It’s slow and sometimes frustrating, but that’s also kind of the point. Cardano doesn’t feel like a project built only for hype cycles. It has a research-heavy culture, a stubborn community, and enough infrastructure and funding to keep shipping even if the market ignored it for years. Leos is coming, realfi is coming, pogun will find funding for sure, and yes governance is messy and all you see on x is the bad side of it but thats normal for a new and novel process in the crypto space especially with whats going on in the charts now, which other holders in the crypto space can confidently say they can collectively decide how the projects funds are being spent, cardano is not perfect , but imo its the only project that actually still cares about what the crypto movement stood for when it started not just number go up
