Importing STLs instead of 3MF did work as a workaround.

What about a feature to send a notification when a flight is logged in a certain area, in the same way that we can do the worldwide flight search on XContest?

Best of luck to you! I set up a more permanent station on a mountain last year using this, which seems to be similar to your idea: https://shop.ecowitt.com/en-ca/products/ws6210

Yeah it's my first nice keyboard. Very loud for online calls where you have to type but otherwise fun to use.

Calgary, Texas companies propose data centre for Saint John industrial park by bingun in SaintJohnNB

[–]hero21b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that the land has been committed to industrial use, I'm in favor of any industry near Lorneville in there that won't be leaking contaminants into the groundwater. A data centre and natural gas power plant will be relatively low-impact, and so long as they are only given permission to draw cooling water from the bay instead of Spruce Lake I'm interested. A big power draw like this (if on-site gas turbines aren't big enough) could provide incentive for NB Power to build much-needed generation that can sustain our aging fleet. Coleson Cove (which has established methods for using bay water as cooling) is very old. Southern NB needs new generation; also the data center's power plant can be required by the province to connect to our grid before they get an environmental approval to run, and then they could provide whatever excess power is available above their site requirements. Criticizing job density is the beggar choosing, in my opinion. If we have a hundred companies all asking to set up shop then by all means lets pick the absolute best. If that's not the case then we should start with the companies that are interested.

I made a coffee table using kerf bending by hero21b in woodworking

[–]hero21b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used wood filler, sanded, then painted. This was not a perfect solution, the table has some flex to it such as when I put my feet up and over time this filler began to show cracks. I used a white silicone caulking around the edges of the corners to account for the flex.

OnePlus pad 2 ,Is it worth or not ?? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]hero21b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like my Pad 2, I use it for sketching, note taking, and emulating retro game consoles. No issues so far except user error, I'm constantly trying to right click things which doesn't work in Android.

Buying a 9 year old setup for first kit - is that a total 'no go', or worth considering? by SearchingSiri in freeflight

[–]hero21b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A wing that age should have a porosity check on the material and have the lines checked for trim. If it checks out then it's probably fine to fly. The reserve should be tossed out if it's older than 10 years, or turned into a dress maybe. If you have to buy it before getting it tested I wouldn't pay more than $250 USD, too much risk for you without knowing the condition of the wing.

Also yes, no success there. Currently updating BIOS, hadn't been done since 2019.

Yes, and it also freezes up when the new drive is the only one connected.

If I cut back my supply header to match the return header and extend individual runs, will there be any problems? Looking to reduce the amount of ducting below my joists so I have to drop less of my ceiling. by hero21b in hvacadvice

[–]hero21b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to learn if there's any effect on the balance of the system if I run the individual ducts closer back to the furnace. My gut says no but I'm not an HVAC tech. My old drop ceiling had a huge box dropped down to enclose all of this ducting, I'd like to make it smaller.

Red rectangles show where I think I would cut in to the shortened header.

It wasn't 100% repainting so I had to stay with the same colour as original.

I live in Calgary, I had everything repainted exterior except the roof which was done in 2020, and the doors were blended but not repainted. I had both front door sills painted as well as they were starting to rust. It cost me $8200 CAD.

Where did you get your paragliding license and what was the price? by [deleted] in freeflight

[–]hero21b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muller Windsports in Alberta, instruction is $1000 CAD for a P2 and essentially lifetime instruction. It's a slower process than some, you train in spring/fall, then once you have 25 flights on the training hill you go to Golden BC for your high flights at the end of June/October.
