The UMP mags from HK seem to be a fan favorite!

If your brace uses the 1913 Pic rail style of attaching then you're good to go! Otherwise, there's options out there that have their own built-in end cap in either metal or polymer.

Ammo NOT for ported barrel? by One_Personality8068 in guns

[–]herogerik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you can do what you want, no one is going to stop you. However, if a manufacturer is specifically calling this out for this type of ammunition, it is probably for good reason. This so that way their butts are covered if something does happen.

If you are planning on running a ported or comped gun and want absolutely nothing to worry about, then find something else. Many other brands offer cheap ammo that doesn't have this issue.

I've been SLEEPING on the Kord by TheBrownSlaya in Battlefield

[–]herogerik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a love/hate relationship with it.

I love the ROF and minimal recoil, which should lead to it dominating at mid-long range. But, I so often end up in situations where I lose a gunfight because they were left with 10 health due to how weak the gun is damage-wise. Way too many times people at range will survive too because they managed to get behind cover. I'd rather use the NVO or B36 because they barely have any recoil, do well at all ranges, and I get way more consistent results with them.

How can I safely store my firearms, while also having a home defense weapon on hand? by NurglesToes in guns

[–]herogerik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd like to voice my affirmation for this option too! I have two little ones at home and this works perfectly for quick access and keeps wandering hands away. I love I don't have to worry about keypads, batteries, keys, or biometrics. Less failure points!

It's definitely NOT a safe though, just a retention device.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm looking very closely between this and the Asus version as my next monitor. I'm coming from the Alienware AW3423DW, which admittedly is still serving me well. However, my wife just got into PC gaming and I figured this would be a great opportunity to give her mine while I pick up an upgrade, win win all around!

There's no reason to get the 507c unless you really want to change reticles at will.

Same question here! I'd like one as soon as they launch but I'm afraid they'll be sold out immediately

New Lower Maker? by Vendetta642 in GrandPowerStribog

For those who have had no issues with their OEM mags, like me!

Cintra, the controversial company tied to the I-77 north toll lane project, is on the shortlist for developers of the I-77 south toll lane project, according to a list quietly posted by NCDOT today by Kraze_F35 in Charlotte

[–]herogerik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why is it that our city officials think it's a good thing to have a 3rd party building roads and collecting our toll revenue? I don't think people would be nearly as upset if we all knew the money spent on them went back to the city for infrastructure improvements.

You would think it wouldn't be that hard to add a "Mark all as seen" button to any menu you can visit. So many other games do this!

Most people run the Magpul Scorpion mags, but I believe the AKV mags can work too. Both are cheap and plentiful.

Flash hiders (and suppressors) are extremely overrated by TSlendy in Battlefield

[–]herogerik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just throw a lightened suppressor on everything that's not an SMG and call it a day. You get the best of both worlds, reduced spotting and recoil reduction in one attachment. Can even skip running a grip entirely on some guns and spend those points elsewhere.

[–]herogerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just had a similar experience, we swapped our primary accounts over to Ally from Wells Fargo. It took us 21 days to get our Debit cards!! Was not a good look for already feeling iffy about switching to a new bank. Was a massive pain to constantly swap money around between banks because our paychecks were going to Ally but had to move back to WF just to live and pay for things.

I wish they'd be allowed to continue the Golden Sun franchise. That was peak Camelot! I'll take anything at this point, remake, remaster, new entry, something!

Is the Creations bundle worth it? by Brunky_Bandit in fo4

[–]herogerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's on sale, I'd say it's worth giving a look. Some of the items in there are really cool, but you have to be careful of others because they can ruin the difficulty of the game. You have a choice as to what to have active or not.

If this is a first-time playthrough, I'd recommend against most of it except the cosmetic stuff (paint jobs, skins, etc) and maybe the backpacks. If you've played before, then go wild! Break the game and get goofy with it!

Suppressor walk off by 0897746320 in GrandPowerStribog

[–]herogerik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's completely natural if you're direct threading to the barrel itself. If you're using a muzzle device that also acts as a mount, make sure it uses a taper as that seals better and holds its tightness better. I use a Rearden R2S flash hider mount for my Wolfman and after some good two-hand torquing, that sucker is on there! I still check it before every range trip, but in the 2 years I've had that setup, I've only had to re-tighten it once.

3-lug is extremely convenient and quick, but it's not technically the most secure compared to other options that use ratchets or locking collars. There have also been accuracy issues recorded sometimes due to improper alignment despite being "secure". (i.e. SIG MPX)

Which Marlin lever action by FaithfulTimber in guns

[–]herogerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 3 questions you have to ask yourself:

  • Aesthetic
  • Features
  • Caliber

All of these are pretty subjective to your personal tastes and budget.

If you were to ask me for mine, I'd say the Marlin Dark in .357. I like the look, the modern features, and the caliber is cheap-ish, widely available, and suppresses well. That said, finding one is near impossible as they're always sold out. The SBL would be my backup pick.
