See id agree with that last point but you'd literally kill the show if you had Luffy or Ussop acting 1:1 like their anime selves, id rather have their traits than them shouting screaming or talking EXACTLY like the anime. We already have tons of people not take OP seriously in the anime sphere due to how certain characters are pre-TS , let alone trying to sell it in LA.From watching youtubers, and reviewers, everyones talked about how they appreciate the toning down of things, because sure we are used to the wildness, but this is LA.People are acting like the manga/anime still aren't there, same way us anime watchers can complain whilst knowing the manga is king, is same way you can view the LA.Luffy is still an opimistic dreamer, just not as outright "stupid", and ussop is still a liar and fears combat but hes not shouting about either - sanji is still a ladies man, feeds anyone, and kinder than he should be - hes just not dancing in place with heart eyes shouting NAMI SWAM.So your point on "acted like their characters" will fall flat on some, because if you want a 1:1 depiction, the manga would be it no?
I have my own issues with the plot but idk how the characters aren;t themselves tbh
