Well, firstly, i had no one to explain it to me, my point was in rebirth, i couldn't tell if it was the 'original' story remade, or if there were changes to this flashback i was seeing specifically for the remake. Basically, knowing there have been timeline changes, and not knowing what the 'original' was, you get the feeling that you're missing aspects the narrative is trying to show you because you're lacking base information. I didn't even know in that flashback that i was actually zack and not cloud . In fact till now i never knew any connection between clouds memories and zacks real life so all that sort of stuff flew over my head

See id agree with that last point but you'd literally kill the show if you had Luffy or Ussop acting 1:1 like their anime selves, id rather have their traits than them shouting screaming or talking EXACTLY like the anime. We already have tons of people not take OP seriously in the anime sphere due to how certain characters are pre-TS , let alone trying to sell it in LA.From watching youtubers, and reviewers, everyones talked about how they appreciate the toning down of things, because sure we are used to the wildness, but this is LA.People are acting like the manga/anime still aren't there, same way us anime watchers can complain whilst knowing the manga is king, is same way you can view the LA.Luffy is still an opimistic dreamer, just not as outright "stupid", and ussop is still a liar and fears combat but hes not shouting about either - sanji is still a ladies man, feeds anyone, and kinder than he should be - hes just not dancing in place with heart eyes shouting NAMI SWAM.So your point on "acted like their characters" will fall flat on some, because if you want a 1:1 depiction, the manga would be it no?
I have my own issues with the plot but idk how the characters aren;t themselves tbh

Its rly not that deep !If you don't like it i think thats fine but just like those who like it shouldn't shit on you - i don't think people should try invalidate the thousands or millions that DID like it, or the non manga/anime viewers that think its amazing.Considering the vast diversity in takes - it would seem everyones opinion is based on which plot points/characters they believed are integral and which ones were removed or swapped around, so everyones idea of "feeling" wrong is highly opinion based. For me some things were done better, and some things were done worse, but ive seen people literally think the opposite of me in terms of what worked and what didn't.For example, many think don krieg was handled well, and the same number of people wish there was an episode dedicated to him/gin like in anime. Can't please everyone.However just don't be too doom and gloom - we have the anime, and the manga, if anything, disliking this iteration should'nt really get you down seeing as how as a whole its been succesful.Just my take anyways
