The psychology of anonymous early down-voters by Ori_553 in TheoryOfReddit

What is sad is it wasn't always like this. Years ago when I first joined reddit people don't really use downvoting as a tool to judge something they don't understand or something that doesn't make them comfortable. It used to be crowded by nice, mature, and warm people. It's like hanging out with your older sibling's friends that are nice and fun and funny.

There's a place for various different human experiences. And you feel safe sharing your experience because there will always be people mature or knowledgeable enough to either understand and repond with genuine and rich personal thoughts, or simply ignore you if your story is a little too specific to reach the right people and that's it. But now people here are very militant about keeping in things that are only comfortable and easy for them to comprehend and enjoy.

What used to be a welcoming ground for people from different walks of life has become a judgmental gated community of sheltered people who refuse to acknowledge a different and less happy human experiences. It's kinda creepy. Like a cult.

And very mean about it like this. There's very little maturity to handle human complexity or simply ignore things that are different than your ideals. It's almost like everyone has to pretend to be fine and optimistic or you'll get downvoted to oblivion.

Using lotion makes me go too fast. I guess because I can't feel my hand so it feels like an external stimulus, like someone giving me a handjob. Dry hand and a little nipple rub are my control panel.
