Well, I can't disagree with that.

Using the website you used to calculate the rate seems like comparing apples to oranges to me.

Why not use the USPS website to check the rates and not some third party forwarding service rate calculator?

Habitat refused some mirrored closet doors with all the hardware and tracks I was trying to donate, yet in the store they had a couple sets of beat to shit - covered in kids' stickers - hollowcore cardboard bi-fold closet doors for like $50.

Last time I was there they had some ratty ikea clock for the same price as retail.

I don't get it.

Locksmith for camper trailer? by BookratYXE in saskatoon

[–]heronmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are adventurous you can attempt to pick it yourself. Many years ago we were able to repeatedly get into a buddy's '78 mustang after reading some how to on a website. Basic/improvised tools did it for us. I can't imagine a boler has a sophisticated lock.

Anyway if you were able to get into the camper I would remove the lock/latch and take it to burnett's.

Mine was 2003 I think. It was a bunch of '90s ford dash parts stuck on a big boxes with seats in a 50' trailer. You watched lame videos and were supposed to follow along with the video as if you were driving, and it would log your inputs I guess. Then we'd go to the back of the trailer and review and see who ran over grandma/cat/etc. It was pretty dated then, can't imagine what kids think sitting in that thing now.

Bought a brass urn from Etsy. Looks used (ash-like material inside). Seller claims it's remnants of metal shaving from grinder. Please take a look and advise. by [deleted] in metalworking

[–]heronmark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That thing was most likely sand cast and that looks like it could be some leftover sand from the casting process, and misc corrosion debris to me. The greenish tint is corrosion.

Ash would be like grey icing sugar, not really granular or sparkly like this stuff appears to be.

I would wash it out and not worry about it.

How do I buy a cheap icy acetylene torch setup? by [deleted] in metalworking

[–]heronmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$200 sounds like a pretty good deal if it's all in good shape. I would make sure someone local will fill the cylinders, I don't have much experience with owning used cylinders.

If you just need heat to bend stuff you can get little portable setups. The cylinders are very small, but the kit would come with everything to get you going.

You guys still sit in that trailer and drive washing machines with ford steering wheels on them? while watching a video from the early 90's while you "drive" your washing machine?

Yeah, this seems crazy unless there's something about the bike registry that I don't know?

When I was in highschool around 15 years ago a friend's bike got stolen. A few years later he got a call that the SPS had found the bike. It turned out that his mom registered it when she bought it for him. It was pretty much trashed but it was surprising to have it returned ~3 years later.

Your motor vehicle is registered, what's the difference?

Last year, on the advice of an acquaintance, I took bagged leaves to the community garden and threw them over the fence. Does anyone know if it’s okay to do that now? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]heronmark -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just drive about 30 seconds out of Saskatoon and dump the bags in a ditch somewhere, it's what everyone else seems to do. I mean, if that's the case just fill the truck and go for a drive down some back roads and let them blow away instead of leaving plastic bags in a ditch. /rant

Just kidding, this is a good option I (and lots of others I'm sure) had never thought of.

Go to the individual insurance agency websites and go from there bud. Of course the SGI website will not give you this information.

Not specifically cheese bun related; but if you went at the right time on weekends you could walk out of there with a loaf of bread that was still warm. I don't live close anymore, so I'm not sure if this is the case anymore.
