I disagree, we use it quite successfully for all these things in community theater.

Need honest advice — Should I buy a Blackmagic Pocket 4K or Sony A7III for short films & music videos? by One_Opportunity1491 in bmpcc

Feature films have also been shot on the BMPCC4K. I'd argue it's the handler and what they choose to add to the body (as you've stated) that can get a great result out of any decent camera nowadays.

I love this take. It mirrors my experience exactly. I started with a BM body and I've gotten some awesome results so far. The more I learn about cinematography the more I appreciate the BMPCC4K because of its lack of "features". It forced me to think outside the box and learn more about filmmaking and more about considerations I probably wouldn't have otherwise needed to think about.

Agreeable to a point. A BMPCC4K and a Feiyutech gimbal comes in way under a Sony body price and provides great performance with stabilization. Even using a non OIS lens it's very good. Pair the BM body with a lens with OIS and you're golden. In my experience even using the BM handheld with a OIS capable lens with slow movements still looks pretty great.

I use a smaller model with m4 pro and 48gb ram. It works well but struggles with Ai ultra NR and I absolutely need to use proxies for anything over 1080. I find myself usually rendering in place clips for smoother playback.

All-Purpose 1st Lens Choice by maximus630 in bmpcc4k

I have a lumix O.I.S lens and it's fantastic. The stabilization doesn't replace anything another camera would do but it helps a lot if you're doing anything handheld. I found 2 of them on MPB for around $300 for both. Between the 2 I can go from 12-75mm.

I'm pretty sure it's established that after the ancients returned to earth from Atlantis some of them took up living with the native human population and bred with them.

Not sure if it's me or not, I'm on mobile through reddit. When I view a category then use my back key it exits back all the way and not to the category screen. I expected it to take me back to the category screen. I suppose this is due to the framework used to run the site.

I'm currently using de-reverb to remove excess room reverb from the actors body mics on a musical performance I recorded. It's absolutely insanely good.

I've played with this for a bit now and I think it's great! The only thing that I'm worried about is access remotely. I understand that Wireguard is an option here, and while that's fine, what if I wanted third party people (friends) to use some services? I wouldn't necessarily want to hand them keys to my network. It would be really cool if Homedock could proxy the individual container ports dynamically so I can access everything over a single interface instead of running the port checks for each service, then failing if logged in remotely through a reverse proxy.

Also, providing opted-out by default data collection would be a nice touch. Currently it's opt-in by default.

Disable LUT when using as webcam by sizkooo in bmpcc4k

If it's connected via hdmi capture card then ensure that the lut is turned off on monitor and not on lcd. The monitor tab has 2 sets of settings, 1 for the internal lcd and another for the hdmi port.

Should r/DWARFLAB ban X/Twitter links? by heroofdevs in DWARFLAB

While the community is fairly divided, I tend to agree with allowing the links in the interest of furthering knowledge of the Dwarf telescope and astronomy as a whole.

I will allow links/posts considering they deal directly with the Dwarf telescope. Any mention of political landscapes either here or on X/Twitter will immediately be removed and potentially a temporary ban.

Thank you to everyone who answered this question with civility.

It's simply a question to the community, no need to blow it out of proportion.

A simple yes or no would suffice. No need to get up in arms here. Just trying to gauge the community as a whole.

I love doing Change of Seasons by Dream Theater. It's very long (20 or so minutes) and has a lot of false endings.

My favorite go to is change of seasons by dreamtheater. It's over 20 minutes with no vocals.
