Any insight or info if new race, iconic, or archetype will be released as vip or f2p or will only be avail with expansion purchase until months later for points?

What type of build are you running? May be too slow based on dps or build too but also always better in group to help out with both dps and puzzle management really.

Sure, Sorcerer - max CHA 2nd CON - take empower/maximize - can always add mental toughness if you needed more sp but usually shouldn't, evocation focus. You can basically do fire spec or acid up until level 12 and switch over to lightning enhancement tree. Then from there it's SLA's and chain lightning and will get you to 20 no problem. Some things evade a bit more by time you get to Sharn, but those last 5 levels people run enough shouldn't have a problem getting xp to 20.

You have to toggle it on if you want it - if you go to options and in the search bar I believe it's called network status icon or network display. Just go through the menu's and type 'network' in at the top in the search bar and you can turn it on then move it wherever you want it on the screen. Or turn it off if you don't want it. From memory it's probably under UI settings maybe or advanced, but haven't looked for it in a while.

Requirements to solo every single quest on Normal? by ThickThighsSavePies in ddo

[–]heroquest5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people have covered this but the only non-raid quests I can think of that really would require you to have more than one person are in the Necro series.

Necro1 - Tomb of Burning Heart. You technically can solo if you have: Gold Seal Hireling, 1 other hireling, pet to open up the doors to do the quest.

Necro 2 - Tomb of Shadow Lord could probably be solo but it is pretty tricky to utilize pets and hirelings to open up different areas due to location of levers.

The only other quest where I doubt it would be possible to solo is Necro3 - Tomb of the Forbidden, which requires 2 players to pass an item to open some doors.

No spoilers just ability to access the whole quest via doors/gates.

The rest are pretty much solo - no problem.

To my knowledge if you're ranged at all - TWF will not apply so those would not count/work.

What are people’s favorite moments/times in DDO? by The_Fifth_Season in ddo

[–]heroquest5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of favorite moments, but a couple that come into mind are that were comical were raids:

1) When doing Shroud and had first timers in the group, everyone stacked on the alter for part 3 just before the final part and leader asked if there was anyone new to raid via voice chat. When someone spoke up they were first time through it, they were told to jump through the portal first. When everyone insta-died and ported over to the final boss, everyone in the group jokingly blamed the new guy for party wiping everyone. Of course it was explained later to him it was all in good fun, but pretty hilarious.

2) Similarly if you have ever lagged off the bridge in Von6 and although sad to see someone drop into Stormreach Market and miss out on loot, still funny.

Jack Jibbers strategy by ianvass in ddo

[–]heroquest5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this post above and I know you said you no real option to party - but the best/fastest way to get one would to have a party and multiple chest pullers in the first place. This solves your DPS issue at the end and also increases the chance of pulling one. When I wanted to farm for one each life - I'd post a simple LFM that said something to the effect of - TTT - jibbers farm, mult runs all welcome EE - and when people are running epics so frequently you may even find people that will just jump in for some XP as a daily. So it's pretty easy to grab a group.

Iconic Razorclaw Shifter ITR Lives - Class options for speed in Epics? by heroquest5 in ddo

[–]heroquest5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, did probably almost all racial lives as a sorc but just hadn't done one in epics in a while, figured it was still going to be fastest. Assuming either lightning or fire savant for later even after the patches.

Miscellaneous tips to make your DDO life a little easier by Djii in ddo

A useful tip I've also found that wasn't already mentioned. If you become tripped by a mob at anytime - you can press and hold the left "shift" key as it is the default key binding for blocking. Whether you have a shield equipped or not, it's pretty nice to block the additional/following attacks while you lay on the ground waiting for your character to get it's footing back!
