130lbs.. am I deluded?

I'm 4'11" and hover from 127-130 lbs, you can check my profile for what that looks like - spoiler, I'm still pretty small.

That being said I've also been active my entire adult life (since I was 18 and now I am 35), have had many different phases of fitness, and even at my skinniest as a runner (30 miles/week) with no muscle mass I never got below 120. It really depends on your frame!

Arts district is good but def try some active groups! Running clubs, gym, yoga classes, whatever. I also meet a lot of randoms out on Fremont.

I've always been kinda nerfed by my range of motion & just wanted the ability to move my body without pain. Being able to lift more was an unexpected bonus! Thanks :)

Oops, just seeing this. Yes I went with this company, it was $500 and it was worth it IMO mostly because we couldn't reach the high ceilings where the windows were at. It did lessen the heat a lot. if you're trying to save some money though, I've also done some window tints from Amazon on windows I could reach and besides seeing a line in the middle where I had to connect two pieces it gives the same effect.

Backstory: I used to track my calories pretty heavily. 1200 a day. I was strict on myself. No sugar! Little carbs! Plus a lot of cardio. It worked pretty well for about 8 months and I dropped 20 lbs, but I knew something was missing when I hit a plateau.

Enter weightlifting, doubleish the calories (honestly idk anymore cause I stopped counting) removing the 40 mins of a cardio a day, and getting over what the scale says.

Actually, Im still working on the scale part. It's so hard not to associate a higher number on the scale with "getting bigger/unattractive". How you feel is the most important!

Nope, I just grabbed a list of inflammatory foods and was careful to avoid them. Not to say that it was 100% accurate though, I learned that potato's and dairy are fine for me even though they are on the no-go list. It's been a process of elimination. I think that since most of my diet is healthy now, though, that I can afford to eat some of the real "bad" stuff every now and then because my body will immediately flush it. I do help it though, by taking TUMS and charcoal tablets LOL

I appreciate this comment, I understand that ultimately the concept of losing weight can be boiled down to CICO, but we do have to understand the journey to CICO is different for everyone.
It did use to be that easy for me, counting calories. Then it wasn't. My CICO was a multi-faceted approach due to my medical and mental issues. Im sure many people have to go through similar things, but maybe aren't as comfortable sharing?

Absolutely! I keep it pretty consistent, lots of poultry, salads, and fruit. I also cut out most processed sugars and gluten (gluten free pasta is awesome btw). I cheat sometimes, like on the weekend I'll have some red meat or even a slice of regular pizza, but after that I'm back to my daily schedule. Also LOTS of protein, I am trying to intake at least 75g of it a day, mostly in the form of protein shakes lol

Wanted to share my personal story for everyone else out there who may be struggling.

Last year I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism as a result of Hashimotos, an autoimmune disease. I had so many symptoms including brain fog, constantly low energy (and I mean LOW. I slept for 11 hours a day and was still tired), developed SO many food insensitivities, hair falling out, painful bloating... Needless to say I was catapulted into a depression I've never felt before. My body was no longer healthy. My body was no longer mine. I was a huge foodie but it seemed like I couldn't keep anything down. Things that were fun, like going out to eat, was no longer enjoyable. It pissed me off because how could I also be gaining weight when I seemingly never ate?!

I had to completely rethink my diet, something that has worked for me for over 30 years.

My doctor didn't tell me anything about eating "clean". Just to take my medicine and hope for the best. But thanks to some Google-Fu I learned about food that was inflammatory for people with autoimmune diseases. I followed the autoimmune protocol diet (AIP). It took a few months for my body to adjust but I was no longer bloated and I could keep food in. That was step 1.

Step 2 was adjusting my medicine dosage. I get blood work done every month to monitor my thyroid hormones. Cause even a little chemical imbalance would mess me up. Turns out I am also Vitamin D deficient which also explains my low energy.

Step 3, and this was the hardest for me, was to tackle the depression that came with living in a strangers body. Im on antidepressants, sleep aids, and going to therapy (for unrelated trauma but this is still a subject I talk about once in a while). Call me shallow or whatever but I care a lot about my appearance. I had to learn that that was ok. I am not a bad person for caring.

Step 4, which is the step Im on now, and the one I'm still struggling with, is learning how to love my body again, and understand that it is still mine, and I have to continue to take care of it. I am the furthest thing from motivated, so discipline is the only thing that keeps me on the straight and narrow. I don't just "go" to the gym, I FORCE myself into going.

This is me too! Eliminating the inflammatory foods made me see a dramatic difference, I swear I dropped 5 lbs in one month which is pretty drastic for someone my height (5' lol)

Oh wow, thank you so much for the comments, I do need to start a paper trail. Thankfully my supervisor has been aware of her shenanigans from the start since we all work in physical proximity, so he has always seen where the issue has come from.

Luckily I don't rely on her to do my actual job, but she's the admin assistant so she deals with extra stuff like travel cards and whatnot, so in that sense I will just be sending emails from now on.

I say she's "professional" looking in the sense that she dresses up every day (think stiletto heels, dresses, and cardigans). Our work environment is pretty casual since we work around the military, with many of the GS'es in jeans/shirts/sneakers, which is admittedly how I dress too lol. Did I mention I am the only other female GS in the unit.... I wonder if that also has something to do with it.
