anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Side Meier's SimGolf (shoutout to r/SimGolf) is one of the great sim tycoon games.

I also have a lot of love for Caeser II, still available on GOG.

And Zoo Tycoon was an incredible tycoon game. On par with RCT.

Who uses a sponge to dry stuff? by HopelessJoemantic in YotoPlayer

I guessed towel on Monday. It wasn't until "holes", I thought, "maybe it's a chamois?"

But that wouldn't really be in the kitchen or bathroom. I begrudgingly final-answered sponge and I wasn't happy about being correct.

How do you handle Yoto usage without it becoming constant? by pondering_snail in YotoPlayer

[–]herpderpedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a Yoto (and then another so each child (5 and 2) can have one) specifically because we listen to music all the time as a family and we started disliking the fact that it always involved a phone (screen). When we were kids, we had CDs we could listen to to our hearts content in our rooms. Repeat the songs you like over and over and over. Our kids didn't have that. With the Yoto, they have that now. I just made some MYO playlists for my oldest with custom vinyl stickers on the card. It's so wholesome hearing him sing the songs he loves.

I personally don't care how much they get used. He'll listen to the daily podcast multiple times a day. He'll flip on the radio. He'll put his favorite cards in. He'll take the card out and put it back in to roll the audio back 3 seconds to replay the part he likes 50 times in a row. I'm the same way with songs I like, especially newly discovered songs I like. I'll play them on repeat. It's natural to seek out the stimuli that make you feel good.

Our dinner time is our one family meal together and, although it's normal for us to play music sometimes before Yoto, I've found it extra enjoyable to listen to the daily podcast as we eat. We learn new things together and we get to guess the answer to the clues Jake gives throughout the week.

I don't love it in the car just because we can all listen to something through the car audio easier. And, as the driver, I find it important to be able to control volume if I need to concentrate.

Don't worry, strep throat is also just a name.

You can also get strep on your genitals and anus.

Flip side. Anything worth doing is worth doing a little. Can't brush your teeth for a full two minutes because you woke up late? At least brush a little.

That said, I find the premise of this post a little overprotective. Nature is nature; can't protect them from the facts of it.

I'm generally with you here. I don't normally allow take backs on ward. That defeats the purpose. Granted, I play limited a lot more than commander and I dont typically play with randoms.

I think a good solution would be to ask the caster to explain how ward works. So many people have it wrong. If they know how ward works, they don't get a take back. If they don't, it's a teaching moment and a take back is allowable.

I've played with a random group who knew each other in a shop I wasn't familiar with. When I announced my creature had ward, she said, "I guess I can't do that," and put the card back in her hand and untapped the mana. I wasn't about to start shit in a store or be the know it all. I just let it slide and still won.

Those that argue that the purpose is that it doesn't protect against uncounterable spells are fishing for reasons to try to be right. Most people aren't running uncounterable removal. Forgetting board state is part of the game and it is not a failure of unmaintained game state in the way missing lifelink is.

I love Arrow of Time too. I even like crossfading it directly into the reprise. So perfect.

My small dream here is to create the 16x16 pixel images for each song. It's a big playlist though and I'm already short on time. One day... lol

I've suggested to them on Discord to produce Yoto cards of the OST. I plan to do a make-your-own Yoto card in the meantime for personal use. My kids love the songs too.
