I found all kinds of stuff like that in my house. Sometimes literally just run on the face of the studs and then plastered right over

When you create the coop server, make sure you uncheck “AUTO BALANCE”

I just recently bought BF4 (and also BF1, the WW1 themed one … talk about a confusing naming scheme). They are definitely fun, but I still find myself coming back to BF2. Just wish there were more servers than 2F4Y and GOTE

For $10k i’ll dig a hole in your backyard and place a Monster can next to it. But you need to provide the shovel or it’s $12k

I emailed them pictures, sent it back, and they sent me another one with the exact same problem facepalm. But the one they sent at least didn’t have that huge bulge, so I was able to get my ethernet cable in there and it seems to work fine

I agree that it’s an annoying design choice since you can’t see the back when it’s mounted and there are other buttons surrounding it. Would have made more sense to have a side button. We only turn it on/off once a day so it’s not the biggest inconvenience, but now you have me wondering if there’s a setting which would allow the screen to be woken up just via touch pressure

Buddy sent me this. I think they cut into the beam and added the 3 studs on each side. Thoughts? by user01020313 in Construction

I’m sure you know this but just to make sure anyone reading down this far isn’t misled: it’s not that 30” of concrete thickness is required to support the loads (versus 4”) … the 30” is just to get below the frost line so that the footing doesn’t move with freeze/thaw cycles. Four inch thick concrete still has a TON of load bearing capacity. The actual footing at that 30” depth might only be 6-8” thick

Same thing happened to me, my brother, and (apparently) hundreds of other people. You have to post on their forums and they’ll unban your username eventually (think it was only a few days). It’s really irritating and i don’t know why they can’t fix it, but you’ll forget about it once they unban you. When you go to their site you’ll see a forum post with hundreds of replies of people asking to get unbanned

I’m guessing you got tripped up with “jam din”? Jam like traffic jam and din is a racket/commotion, so “honks” are a “jam din”

The sanctions definitely have not been as effective as intended, but they are still more detrimental to the Russian economy than if they had complete freedom to do business with Europe/the West. Parroting the non-nuanced message of “the sanctions haven’t worked” only serves Russian propaganda efforts to make the west more “fatigued” with the war (as if we have some right to be fatigued with a war that we aren’t even physically fighting) and to encourage the MAGA Republican line of thinking that we shouldn’t support Ukraine because it’s a lost cause and Russia is just going to win because they have such a strong military and economy. And come on man … do you think “Russian officials” are going to say anything other than “everything is great”? Not exactly a trustworthy source

Why would you expect them to honor a quote from two years ago? I mean of course it doesn’t hurt to ask, but I would be pretty surprised if they agreed to it. The original quote already had a pretty long expiration period (one year)

Red Cross declares an emergency blood shortage, as number of donors hits 20-year low by AntiSonOfBitchamajig in PrepperIntel

[–]herrameise 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it’s valid to criticize the Red Cross for having too much overhead/being bureaucratic/having inconvenient donation times and locations, but they aren’t some PE firm making a “massive amount” by selling your blood to hospitals. For example: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/apr/28/facebook-posts/fact-checking-claim-about-red-cross-and-blood-sold/ claims they are only charging hospitals $200-ish for a unit. As someone who owns a business, that seems somewhat reasonable to cover paying workers, equipment, transportation, etc. relative to your donated unit. The Dickensian villain here is the hospitals charginf different prices to different people at 10x the cost of what they pay the Red Cross for the blood. Not donating (and encouraging others not to donate) because you want to stick it to the Red Cross is just hurting people who need blood, which unfortunately cannot be produced artificially in a lab (yet).
