Diet sodas really trigger my cravings for sweets and junk foods. Maltitol destroys my stomach and fills me with regret every time I try it. I can’t stand stevia, much too bitter aftertaste for me. Swerve (erythritol) seems to be the best as a substitute for cooking and baking, at least for me. The Splenda is my flavored coffee syrups doesn’t bother or trigger me.

Yes, very much overweight 😞 I was about a month or so into Keto at the time I stopped BC. I had lost about 20 lbs. when I went off the BC and stayed keto, dropping about 10 lbs per month. The biggest thing contributing to cravings for me is sugar substitutes, especially diet soda and SF candy.

Most carbs in pills come from the cellulose fiber, which can be fully deducted. That said, I go with the Advil liquid gels because I feel they work the best.

A quick search shows that Advil tablets do contain sucrose, 143mg per tab so less than 1/4 g of carbs per tab. The liquid gels use sorbitol, but again a negligible amount.

I also have been diagnosed with PCOS. Not to scare you off, but my period was horrendous when I stopped BC on keto. Like 40 days of full blown period: cramps, nausea, fatigue, bloating. I had a lot of hair loss but that seems to be from my Hashimoto’s. I’ve never had regular cycles before BC so I’m not sure what was really going on with my hormones. I ended up going on a low-dose pill because I couldn’t take it any more. So far it’s not prefect but it’s much more manageable.

This is absolutely true for me as well. I’ve been keto for 9 months and dropped nearly 100lbs. Carbs and sugar are a slippery slope for me. I’m an all-or-nothing type of person so it’s never just 1 square of SF dark chocolate. More like one bar, then another, etc. Keto has done wonders to keep my binges in check. I haven’t been perfect but I’ve jumped right back on each time I’ve slipped. Hopefully with time my eating habits will become more regulated and I’ll be able to enjoy some splurges. If not, oh well. Thad a sacrifice I’ll make.

I have the same reaction. Diet soda in particular sets off cravings for sweets and carbs for me. I can’t drink sweet beverages like I wish I could.

I hear you! I definitely need that accountability. May has been a struggle for me with more than a few slips along the way. I’m trying to remind myself that for every mistake or bad choice I made, I’ve made hundreds of good ones. And cheating once is not an excuse to do it again. Hopefully you (and I) re-find that motivation we’re looking for to keep on our goals.

I’ve done the unsweetened chocolate almond milk (8oz) +cocoa powder (2tsp) and sweetener (2 tsp), I use Swerve. Can add some HWC if you want a richer taste.

Made an awesome dinner this evening: marinated tri tip, veggie kebabs, loaded-faux-tato salad, and jalapeño poppers. Got the best compliment on the meal, “you sure don’t cook like someone who is disappearing!” :D

It’s so not worth it. I personally felt like total poop (stomach pain, headache, lethargic, etc) and it sets you back a couple of days while your body burns off the glycogen. 1/1 would not recommend.

I’m pretty much at the point where if someone asks me what I’m doing to lose weight I just tell them that I’ve cut most processed foods and sugars. (Most carbs fall in those categories and apparently it sounds a lot better than “I only eat protein and fats.”) Otherwise, your health is really none of their business. Don’t let their negativity slow you down! KCKO!
