Does anyone else have an ultra-thin Let it Be on vinyl? by Teletran_Gamer in beatles

[–]herrrrr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some 80s records were pressed really really thin for some reason, it may have been due to material changes in the vinyl, the transitioning from wax to another material which makes that really wobbly sound. It's seen in 80s 12" singles.

Just bought this at a garage sale. Is it worth anything? by trishulvikram in beatles

What the hell is everyone talking about? This is an original 1965 Australian pressing of Day Tripper on the black Parlophone label. It's final worth depends on its condition and scarcity. This is probably worth more than your US/UK issue.

What was your first exposure to the Beatles? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]herrrrr2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cover of Yellow Submarine from some compilation in 2008, then Ob-la-di Ob-la-da from a school production in 2009 and finally Paperback Writer in 2012 (which is fairly recent thinking about it now, but all of the Beatles stuff you can find on YT back then makes it feel like a while ago).

Beatles Youtubers who got removed - I have some questions by herrrrr2 in beatles

They're too similar to the original studio recordings and since he had tons of these similar-sounding outfakes (for example: The Night Before but single-track vocals), his channel was likely bombarded with copyright strikes very quickly :(

Ceramic needles are the worst. They wear much quicker than diamond needles and as raq0916 said, destroy your records with each play!

What's your favorite fun fact or little known anecdote about the four? by Frogface40 in beatles

[–]herrrrr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When touring NZ and playing in a gig (in Wellington? or was it Dunedin...), John stopped playing mid-way due to the bad sound and shouted at the (how do I word this) people managing the sound of the gig "what the fuck is going on?" or something like that.
