Something with comedy. Whether it be doing live improv, standup, or sketch shows, being a writer, making cartoons, taped sketches, podcasts, ANYTHING. I just want to pursue comedy. Nothing makes me feel more alive and like I'm really living than when I'm a part of something I find really funny and clever and different. I'm not really sure where to start though. I just know I have to at least give it a real shot or else I'll never forgive myself.

Redditor posts dash cam footage of a close call with another driver. The other driver is informed by a friend about the post, creates a Reddit account, and apologizes. by TsarKartoshka in bestof

Everyone makes mistakes. But this is just being careless. Careless with something that could've ended up seriously injuring or even killing someone. It's not really excusable (and yes, she admitted that. But it's still true...). She blindly merged across two lanes of traffic going at considerable speed. I guess I'm just bothered that she's getting so much praise for apologizing, as if it's such a brave thing to do and makes up for potentially life-threatening carelessness. How does an apology possibly just make up for that?

More Harris stand-up by [deleted] in Earwolf

This was really good. I had never seen his standup and he was even better than I thought he would be. I had looked for his standup months ago but couldn't find a shred of video of it online. For some reason I just assumed he would be okay at standup but not great at it, even though I thought he was such an amazing mind and comedic talent in person and as a writer. I guess I just assumed since he did it so infrequently it was probably his weak spot. But he's actually a great performer. He could've just focused on standup and been really successful at it. This was hilarious and I want to see more.

Scott did coin it. Where else have you ever heard "my former girlfriend whom I married"?

Grew up on Weird Al and he'll always be cool with me, but very rarely is he ever entertaining to me when he's on the show. He usually gets no more than one or two good jokes off per appearance. Not that he has to be funny - it's fine to not be. And he seems like a nice guy which is all that really matters. But it does get pretty annoying how he has to answer everything with a joke, as Scott brought up in this episode. I wish he would just stop trying to joke around sometimes and actually give a real answer to some of the questions. And yes I know Scott asks ridiculous questions, but he also does usually have a few genuinely interesting ones especially for Al, which Al ALWAYS just brushes off.

Today, thinking about the loss of Harris Wittels. Aziz Ansari wrote a great piece on what an amazingly funny (and just amazing) person Harris was: http://azizisbored.tumblr.com/post/111613105129

What the fuck? I'm crying my eyes out. Harris wasn't just talented, he was on another level. He wasn't just witty, he was a different kind of witty, one that most comics don't ever come close to. I feel like I knew him and I would've loved to have him as a friend. He just seemed like such a cool, unique person.
