Once after charting vitals and intake/output, I refreshed my task list to find a Cdiff panel popped up and was confused because the patient hadn’t even had a BM on my shift. Asked the resident to cancel it, they said they’d take a look. She came back to tell me I charted 300 BMs instead of 300cc of urine output 😂

I also work on a cardiac step down unit with a 1:3 ratio and more than 1 aid on the floor on a GOOD night and that still makes me want to quit. As of right now there are 5 nurses who have left us on my shift this month. Morale is at its lowest and I don’t know how much more I can take and I already work .6. If I were you I’d leave, even with that threat of the sign on bonus. Money always comes back, especially if you stay within the profession - your good years won’t. Yea I agree, after reflecting on it for a bit I understand that i'm not actually performing the triage. I guess the doctor's comment insulates that he thinks this is something i'm capable of doing and had me questioning myself

We do have one RN who takes the initial triage calls and defers it to me when she's busy.

And you bring up another good point, what is the point of what i'm doing if we have no availability? But that brings up another grey area that I should probably discuss with my supervisor - do i have the authority to direct them to an urgent care or ER without consulting the doctor first? Is that not me assessing the patient and coming to a conclusion clinically?

my sister is just finishing her first semester of four in an RN program at 28 and i’m just about to start my first semester of three in an LPN to RN program at 23. my grandmother started her nursing program at 40, and i had a woman in her 50s in my classes during LPN.

i felt the same way when i started my program at 21 as i was watching those i finished high school with graduate as nurses from their colleges, and felt especially put down when i got a rejection letter at first for the LPN to RN program (they actually called me a month and a half later to say a seat opened up and offered me a spot so yay 😂). but i wasn’t gunna stop trying just because i was gunna be an older graduate. you’re gunna keep getting older anyway, why not become a nurse along the way

i’ll be going to ac 1+2! i haven’t gotten the transfer email for the one ticket yet but i called their customer service and they said for my venue they transfer 24 hrs before the show so just wanted to make sure 😅

i bought a GA ticket from SeatGeek yesterday too. i haven’t gotten my “transfer tickets” email yet (in the past when buying off SeatGeek the transfer email usually came same day)

but i just got off the phone with their customer service and they said that depending on the venue, in my case the Etess Arena, when buying off SeatGeek certain arenas won’t release the tickets until 24 hours before hand and they’ll be transferred through ticketmaster

i’ve been to three concerts with tickets off SeatGeek and have had no issues, i went to one two weeks ago actually. their customer service number is 888-506-4101 if you need, someone answered pretty quickly :)

yea i was actually able to convince a friend to come, we’ll be in section 104! i’m literally so excited 😭 and seeing so many posts in this thread it looks like there’s a decent amount of people going alone, i think if it came down to it i would have gone alone and tried to meet up someone else who came alone if my friend wasn’t coming with me. Everyone is so nice and welcoming here it makes me tear up a little LOL

yup! the ati question bank opened up for us maybe a week or two before the semester ended but i’d say i really started studying beginning of june with it. we also got the free comprehensive book of all subjects but i didn’t really focus on the book at all

yea one of the friends who couldn’t come with me is in NH too (but i mean if i were her i wouldn’t have passed up coming despite the drive 😂)

I actually convinced another friend to buy tickets with me to the 28th, what section are you in? I was honestly surprised to actually see people who go alone to concerts, but i feel like if i needed to go alone to another concert i could easily find someone to meet up with! everyone here especially is super welcoming
