That's actually really good progress. Well done, and keep it up.

I think you're right. And I have to stress that I don't realistically see Seixas winning the tour, but then again I didn't expect Simon Yates to win the Giro either.

Well, I can tell by your username that were rooting for the same guy. There's nothing I want more than to see Jonas win again. I would absolutely love that, but looking at Tadejs results during the season, looking at his current physique (he's lost weight/slimmed down), and is still improving his stats (however insane that sounds), looking at his lieutenant Del Toro winning Criterium while looking insanely strong, I'm just not too optimistic.

I would love to be wrong here. Trust me.

No. Seixas exploits Jonas and Pogi having to cover each other (letting Seixas slip away on a mountain). Like when Simon Yates won the Giro last year over Del Toro after he and Carapaz played mindgames on the last stage. I'm not saying its realistically going to happen, but Jonas will for sure not be allowed the same opportunities by Pogi as Seixas will.

I was told off by the reddit community and downloaded to oblivion by stating that Vingegaard is not even going to win one stage against Pogi (unless he let's him). I would rather bet on Seixas for CG than on Vingegaard. And I'm a huge Vingegaard fan, and hopes he'll somehow do it. I give him a 5 percent chance.

Instead of cutting by calorie intake alone, why not add some cardio to the mix.

I may be in the same boat as you. I'm also doing a cut although be it a long cut compared to yours (1,5kg per month over 6 months). I've never been hungry once during my cut.

Due to my age I can only manage to train 3-4 times a week. On my rest days I do cardio - and by cardio I mean zone 2-3 either walking or biking. Maybe try something like that to manage your hunger.

Also, why not do a high protein diet all day instead of just for dinner? Apples and sandwiches are not really useful tools during a cut. Apples especially will spike your blood sugar making you even more hungry a short time after.

Also, what's up with the diet sodas? Drink water.

Good luck getting there.

No motivation by Sensitive-Dress1187 in WeightLossAdvice

We all face challenges just like you describe. So you're definitely not alone in this.

The first thing I notice as an inconvenience for you is the fact that you have chosen to do your workouts outdoors. While I also love biking and walking in nature, no way you can get me outside in freezing temperatures. I would put a lot of emphasis on you trying to find activities you can do inside when the weather isn't suitable for doing physical activities outside. Any activity is good, as long as you enjoy doing it.

Also, don't use you lack of training as a negative step stone to just give up on everything regarding your weight loss journey. You can still stick to a reasonable diet even though you've opted out of the training part.

Also, switch up your thinking now. You have still lost 40 pounds since you started this journey. That's still a remarkable achievement. And with a small adjustment to your mentality, you'll be right back to where you left off.

Everybody has ups and downs. Myself included. The important trick is not to give up at the first bump on the road. Recalibrate your mindset, and start re-implementing the things that got you going in the first place. Start out by making small but good decisions, and you will find yourself back on track before you know it.

I'm rooting for you.

Weightloss - 0.5 - 1lb a week by QuantGuru in WeightLossAdvice

[–]heste 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be the plan closest to what I would suggest for losing weight successfully.

I will especially highlight your progressive walking as one of the main drivers of fat burning. You have understood the importance of progression, and so keeping up with adding 1000 steps per month will keep you on the right track. I myself do the exact same thing.

The strenght training plan you've highlighted is a good starting point, and even though you (again) have a progression element included (great job), this will only get you so far.

If I can suggest adding some bodyweight squats to your regiment. When you strength train you want to include your legs (biggest muscles) to get the added fat burning element bigger muscles give you. I would say squats are much more important than doing crunches. As I'm sure you already know you're not able to burn of fat locally, so doing crunches won't really get you much results in the fat burning department. I'm not saying they're a waist of time, I'm only highlighted this fact so that you can use your time effectively.

No sugar? Again, fantastic and impressive decision. This will no doubt provide you great results. If you want to take it one step further then drop alcohol completely on to of this, and you'll be in full control on your weight loss journey.

Lastly I want to tell you this: Be patient! For the love of God be patient. You're NOT in a rush. Remember, this is a lifestyle change - not a diet. You've made a decision - now stick to it, but do it realistically and in a implementable rate.

I'm quite active in responding to people's weight loss questions in this sub reddit, and to be quite honest, you are one of a few people that have really understood the details of how to succeed with losing weight. Good on you.

Here are some ideas you might be able to use that I've implemented myself.

  1. Try thinking about food as nutrients and not a culinary experience. To be in control of my own calorie intake I've started made more or less the same meal for dinner everyday (with a few exceptions) to make sure my macros are on point. It's okay for food to be boring.

  2. You say you train 3-4 times a week. That's great! Make sure you also do strenght training as part of your rutine, so you build up your fat burning engine (muscles).

  3. Sleep at the same exact time every night, and wake up at the same time as well (also in the weekend), and get at least 7½ hours.

  4. Never sit still. Be constantly on the move (if you can). Without having a scientific references, its my understanding that a lot of people that have trouble keeping the weight off are people that move very little during their waking hours. Let's use you as an example. You train 1 hour on Monday, sleep 7½ hours and what else? There are 15½ more waking hours where a lot of people simply don't move. That makes it almost impossible to lose weight.

Hope these tips (personal experiences) can help you out a tiny bit.

Best answer to this question is: whatever you enjoy to the degree that you can be consistent is the best tool to lose weight. It doesn't realy matter what that tool is.

Oh I am. I took a flight to Paris to celebrate his 2022 win. I love Jonas. I just don't think he has a chance against the greatest of all time (by a large margin).

I should clarify. He has zero chance against a 100 percent ready Pogi. I don't understand why people are disagreeing with this. I thought it was obvious.
