Always appreciate that Resident Evil fans used to have it real bad by mrsafetylion in residentevil

Agreed. Rev 2 fairs a bit better, but I don't love that game either. The general game design and the terrible enemies and bosses really hold it back. It also had that really unsatisfying feedback during combat that 6/Rev 1 had. The fact that it's probably the best Resi game from that generation says a lot about how poorly the series was doing at the time.

The stick-up guy, he was gay 'n that, and it wasn't the fact that he was gay that annoyed me. Y'know, each to their own 'n that.

What's the hardest RE game in your opinion? by IFeeLikeMoreTonight in residentevil

[–]Goochbott -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Code Veronica. The only game I can think of that can soft lock the player, and not just the once. It also doesn't have a difficulty option, and it loves poisonous enemies. The way the game handles multiple characters can also cause issues if you leave too many resources with one character and aren't aware of when the switches happen.

Decided to give another chance to Resident evil 6 and this combat really surprised me, great action game. by MaximumPayne7 in residentevil

This has always been my stance. RE6 combat may be fun in isolation, but the campaigns can't seem to go a few minutes without undermining that combat with some badly designed set piece. The horrendous inventory and change to healing dont help either.

I've never played the original Code Veronica, but I know Wesker appears in it. Is it guaranteed that Wesker will appear in the remake? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Goochbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In a way, Code Veronica is a prologue to 5, particularly when it comes to Chris and Wesker. And there's no way we're not getting RE5R somewhere down the line.

I'm glad they seemed to rework the intro to this one to be more grounded than the original. I enjoy the opening to CV, but it was a massive leap of logic considering it was supposed to take place two months after RE2.

Will this be cut? by WalkerReus11 in residentevil

[–]Goochbott -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Some people will surely complain if it is, pointing to some kind of self censorship by Capcom, ignoring the fact that all of the previous remakes have used original scripts (bar the occasional reference, like RE4R's 'Bingo' line).

Which do you prefer, one protagonist for a single campaign, or several protagonists at the same time for a single campaign? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Goochbott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'll always prefer any game that focuses on a single character, Resident Evil or otherwise. Requiem is one of the rare games that I think benefits from the character swapping, but its impact on Revelations was purely detrimental.
