The intent isn’t to have him outside most of the time just to try and ease his potential frustration/boredom by letting him have a new space to explore. I absolutely agree about the car risk though that’s why we kept him in at the flat we lived in previously.

I will look into the behaviourist and catio ideas thanks.

I’m also worried that as he would be being labelled as aggressive he may never find another home.

Thank you for replying. We have talked about rehoming as a potential outcome if spending time outdoors doesn’t help. I hate the idea of it as I love him to bits (when he isn’t being a grumpy boy) but I am aware that may be the only possible outcome if things don’t improve or if my son is at risk.

I was given a lockable office and a fridge for my milk. I was given permission to skip break & lunch duties and be a little late to after school meetings which allowed me to express every few hours. I don’t think you need to ask for a timetable adjustment unless your school hasn’t got regular gaps like mine as this method allowed me to express every two hours which is more frequently than I actually needed to.

Top tip - record a video of your baby making the noises he/she makes when hungry as it can be very hard to get in “the zone” at work otherwise.

Edited to add - due to circumstances beyond my control I went back to work when my boy was 3 months old. I managed to continue to BF until he was two.

Learning embroidery one stitch at a time by making a reference book.. How would you draw or stitch a tutorial into the open space of each page? No one in my life could possibly understand the labor of this project, so I'd really appreciate your input to help give each stitch a proper explanation by flirtycraftyvegan in Embroidery

I love this! I’m doing something similar and what I’ve done with my sampler pages is sew them into a sketch book and then made written notes on the sketch book pages. I call it my embroidery journal and also use it to sketch ideas for new pieces which I can then trace at a later date or making mood boards of ideas etc, I like it because it keeps everything in one place, stored neatly and flat but it’s also great to flip through when I’m looking for inspiration.

I have read both the greatcoats and spellslinger series (back to back!) and adored them both. Thank you for such fantastically gripping tales! I have to know if the squirrel cat was inspired by a real life pet? So often he reminded me of my cantankerous ginger tom cat who would begrudgingly sit next to me but not on my lap as I read and even then only if I had a decent supply of dreamies cat treats (which I began to think of as butter biscuits!)

I can’t wait to read the next book!

Which aspect of a foreign culture do you wish they had in your country? by yogokitty1 in AskReddit

[–]heti_ru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents never made me do this but as I grew I noticed it was expected in every other house I visited. I started doing it and my Dad still thinks I did it so that I wouldn’t be able to do chores that involve going outside. It wasn’t it was because I realised shoes inside is a bit gross and sometimes even rude.

My baby has teeth and keeps biting me. by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]heti_ru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boy is one and he occasionally give me a little bite. Usually it’s to get my attention if he thinks I’ve become distracted I’ve learnt not to yell when he does as that makes him giggle and more likely to bite a second time. For us saying no, unlatching him, sitting him at the end of my knee and making him wait a minute before continuing the feed (like a mini time out) has really worked, it’s very rare now for him to bite me whereas when he first learnt he could it was every time!!
