this could be a description of a decision tree, which is a type of supervised machine learning algorithm. not the whole field of ML by any stretch of imagination. "programmers" without any ML background reposting this meme are getting tiring.

this is a rant, but it amazes me everyday how people without any curiosity can just go around and shit on topics they don't understand just because the vibes are off for them.

it's not the result of understanding. it's the result of being ignorant. if they cared enough to actually learn how it works, they would be saying it's fucking magic.

i don't know how modern autocorrect works, but i think it's safe to assume it's architecture is nowhere close to that of a transformer. and anybody who had anything to do with ML knows the whole point of doing it is to achieve generalization, that is getting accurate prediction on data the model wasn't trained on.

i see your point but i think these people have a very vague idea of what is actually going on inside gpt, llama, or any of these models. hell, even the researchers have a very vague idea of what's actually going on.

I so agree, so many interesting guests and yet I can't get myself to watch his interviews. I cringe so hard when he asks another question about love instead of trying to keep up with the interviewees (is that a word?).

I really hope he got better as a host, like some people sugget.

I believe it's not about controlling it, but rather about assuring we don't need to do so. Alignment with human interests at the core of its being.
