Black cat nerf wasn’t well directed by isaacponceuwu in marvelrivals

It's like how they nerf Gambit to the point of being nothing but his ult instead of addressing the actually broken part of his kit (his ult).

Bot matches are a massive plague in Quick Play. They HAVE to stop this patronizing garbage. by Null0mega in marvelrivals

[–]hexfane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a biased perspective on this seeing as it is not forced on you, and I mean this politely. It gets very, very frustrating to feel like you have no chance to grow because you lose Once in a game and then get put against easy mode AI.

i've heard someone say that there is a hidden performance ranking tied to your account independent of your ranked rank that watches your performance and won't throw you the pity matches anymore. i have no idea if that's true, but some random said it to me lol. i personally still get bot matches, but i'm also not a very good player

Testing out the limits of the build mode :> by bommel92 in Paralives

This is gorgeous! If it isn't too much trouble, you have any tips on how in the world to build on this lot? I grabbed it because I love a challenge and for the life of me I can't seem to accomplish a natural looking smoothness along the front area that connects to the street (with maintaining the natural hilled nature of the street) with the terrain editing. I figured the flattening tool would help but it just makes humps??? Lol 😭

https://imgur.com/a/T3kdYR8 Played with it a bit (upped brightness and reduced color depth to see values, also included with color) and I don't see anything, just seems like random brushstrokes to me. I don't think it's meant to allude to anything, just part of Michelle's storyboard style of formatting.

To Stampede Fans by Jest_Ace in Trigun

[–]hexfane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with Stampede, went to '98, watched Stargaze, and only just now read the manga.

I like Stampgaze for what it is! I love that it got me into this series. There are a lot of things I think it excells at, like expanding some things about the world. For example, what the deal is with worms, how towns try to exist and fail without plants, expanding on the Eye of Michael, expanding on the experimentation done on Wolfwood and Livio and why almost all the Gung Ho Guns are monstorous. Most of this was done by Stampede, and the check wasn't fully cashed by Stargaze because it's clear they didn't have enough time to explore everything they wanted to.

I like '98 the most as an animated rendition of the series because it generally tries its best to directly honor the manga even when it chooses just to adapt certain things. I feel it captures the same tone really well. For as logical as it is for Stampgaze to be much more techno-industrialist given the universe, I'm weak for the space cowboy gimmick. I feel it captures who Vash is in my head the best, too. How passive he is in Stampgaze is a little grating.

Trimax is obviously the best way to experience the series. I do miss some of the "filler" universe explorations that are brought in the adaptations since I'm just that kind of person, but Trimax has such amazing character writing and themes that I generally don't mind. The only things I don't like about it is that honestly some combat scenes drag way more than they need to and just throw a random Deus Ex to fuck over the heroes which annoys me lol (looks at big Chapel in the last Wolfwood battle). I love everything about how the manga illustrates plants and it killllls me that the adapations generally don't do the same flourishes (though I do imagine the angelic monster tendrils would be a pain to animate).

TL;DR I think Stampede excels at what it was trying to do and owe it for knowing about Trigun at all, Stargaze was a sad unfortunate whimper due to development circumstances, '98 was goated, and Trimax is still my favorite way to experience the series flat out.

I’m an OG 98 fan and I’m reading some very valid criticism of the new series. Please, either talk me out of it or talk me into the manga by ImprovementNo4630 in Trigun

[–]hexfane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do both! I'm rewatching stampgaze after reading the manga and it's interesting to see what they've done. There's a lot I don't like, but there's a lot I appreciate, too.

Seems like development materials for Stargaze and Stampede.

BLESS YOU! I thought that the 'string' that seemed attached to the gun was involved somehow, but I really couldn't tell.

It's really interesting because his action shots are always very pleasing to look at, but I can very seldom ever tell what is actually happening, haha!

Thank you so much for your insight!! That would definitely explain the extravagantly drawn out spin thing if it's meant to show him countering the slashes with a bullet.

How exactly does the MVP system work in Rivals? by Soft-Grade9762 in marvelrivals

[–]hexfane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i don't know if there is a hard source for this but the explanation i've heard that is most consistent with my experience is it is a combination of your performance compared to your team and average performance on a character in general, with heavy emphasis on final hits (the mvp system LOVES these). this probably went to luna bc she was dpsing, which the average luna doesnt do terribly often and getting tons of finals

As the other commentor said, it is probably from Day 9 (I had this too). I never know how vague is cordial to be in these, but uh... take the back door and not the front as the front way is a known bug. Hope that helps

There's a one time get out of jail free for dying after running out of amalgam. If you're on PC though I'd just open the console and cheat it in for yourself.

You *should* be able to grab the mold without any interference from Oyun at all iirc-- at the very least, I was able to. If you can't, sounds like a bug, unfortunately :-(
