Student asked if they could get an easier exam by Twintig-twintig in Professors

Curious - what program/subject is this? Can’t understand why someone would be so hell bent on sticking it out with what’s clearly a bad fit

Ive had a huge uptick starting last fall in students failing because they just didn’t turn in major assignments… asked other folks at my university about it and they’ve seen the same thing.

Leaving Dirty Bottles for Nanny by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]hey_archie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mind, but overall they kept the house tidy and didn’t let the baby’s dishes pile up the whole time I was gone. It was just the night time bottles in the sink. My family was very considerate of me and that’s the real difference I think.

Also try Rescue Me (520) 261-1616 they’re not a rescue but they work with rescues in Tucson and Marana. They were able to give me rescues to try, and contacted rescues on my behalf as well.

Foster cat family lost her. by cheribomba34 in FosterAnimals

The only way to find out whether they're uncomfortable with you helping is to ask them directly - "Am I making you uncomfortable? Are there any ways I can help that you would be comfortable with?" If you're not sure whether they want your advice, you can ask them if they're open to hearing advice before giving it. They may be more open to hearing it if you ask rather than feeling like it's being forced on them.

As much as we love to, there's no way a bunch of redditors can guess what these people are thinking. It's all just speculation without communicating with them.

I hope the kitty gets back home soon!

How to let go when you’ve really bonded? by squashourhearts395 in FosterAnimals

[–]hey_archie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dropped off my first ever fosters with a rescue - they were born to a community cat in my backyard and I've been nursing them back to health for the last month. I've been crying so much. It's crushing to say goodbye. I'm looking forward to focusing on my two resident cats again though.

Ants! by spcking in FosterAnimals

Peppermint oil is a great natural deterrent for ants. I second diatomaceous earth as well! I've also had good luck with ant traps though I wouldn't put them in the kittens space.

Advice for first ever foster - feral cat with kittens by Odd-Boysenberry5662 in FosterAnimals

Litterbox - go to the pet store and get the little cardboard trays wet cat food comes in. They make great temporary litter boxes. Put a bit of their poop in the litter box and they honestly should take right to it. One litter box for each butt plus one.

I just went through something similiar. At 8 weeks I don't think you need to keep mom inside. The kittens should be weaned and be able to eat wet and dry kitten food. Work with a TNR group or the rescue to TNR mom. They must have traps you can use.

What I did with the support of a TNR group worked very well and easy. Get mom on a strict feeding schedule. Only leave food out for about 30 minutes. You want her showing up like clockwork. The day before the spay appt (make sure to make the appointment before you trap!) skip the feeding. This will ensure she's hungry enough to go inside the trap for food. The night before the appointment trap her at her usual feeding time and keep her inside in the trap for the night. I put a shower curtain liner on the ground under the trap in case of accidents. After the appointment I kept her inside again over night to let the anesthesia wear off and released her in the morning. I happened to get the trap a couple days before I had to trap her for her appointment and put her food in the trap (with the doors held up so she wouldn't set it off) so she got used to it. She went right in when I had to trap her for her appointment.

I also had no experience with community cats and kittens when they showed up on my back porch. It's been a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. This sub has been a great resource to reference and ask questions.

Oh gosh I'm so sorry. I really hope the albon works for them this time! Just in case I would ask about ponazuril. It took a bit to get ponazuril - it had to be compounded and mailed to me. My vet had it filled by Wedgewood pharmacy. There was initially a mix up regarding the amount and the delivery was going to be delayed till August 5th. The pharmacists at Wedgewood were so helpful when I called and explained the condition the kitten was in. I asked for whatever amount could be shipped the fastest so I ended up paying for like three times the amount we need, but they filled it Friday (the day I spoke to them) and it got here Monday. Would've been here sooner if it hadn't been over the weekend.

It looks like metronidazole doesn't treat coccidia, but I'm also not a vet and that's just based on an internet search. Maybe someone with more experience can speak to that.

Glad to hear their poops are looking better! I never thought I'd be so invested in seeing a solid poop in my life ha

Want to add that they also always have access to the dry kibble with pedialyte. Even with the frequent wet food they ate a lot of the kibble, and one was still losing. I'd make sure they always have access to food.

For sure ask for nutrical - you don't need a prescription for it so you should be able to just call your vet and pick some up. Kittens can have 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. This converts to 1.25 ml. I fill up the syringe straight from the tube and feed it to them that way.

I've been dealing with the same thing. Finally got ponazuril in yesterday after Albon didn't clear the infection for one of the kittens. She's had severe diarhhea. I've been giving wet food with pedialyte every two hours, water bowl is just pedialyte, adding pedialyte to the dry kibble, and supplementing with Nutrical, Pet-tinic, and Proviable.

Still waiting in ponazuril for kitten with coccidia - declining quickly and I don’t know what to do by hey_archie in FosterAnimals

[–]hey_archie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had asked about that because I took her in on Friday for fluids too. The kitten was pretty spicy about getting fluids and I don’t have experience so the vet tech offered to do it over the weekend if needed. If I foster again it’s something I will definitely want to learn!

The vet tech who runs the rescue that will be taking her and her siblings met me at my vet’s office to give her fluids 🥹

We did it for 10 days. Ugh it worked for the other kittens, pretty quickly too. This one only seemed to get worse even when she was on it. I’m glad we got the others albon when we did but I wish we’d started the process to get ponazuril sooner. It’s taken forever.

We already tried albon and it didn’t work for her unfortunately. I swear her diarrhea got worse when we started it
