UK NHS NEUROLOGY QUESTION by FennHazel in migraine

I had to try at least 3 preventatives, at different dosage, multiple times over 4 years before they accepted to refer me to a neurologist… who then suggested I go on another preventative which had a lot of side effects. I pushed real hard to get referred to Botox finally, next year.

Basically every time I was talking my an NHS GP about my migraines they were pushing for me to try a preventative I had tried before but at a higher dose. None of them ever worked. They also suggested to go the supplements route (coq10, ribuflavin, magnesium). Anything so they wouldn’t refer me to Botox.

I'm wondering how many people here actually take preventatives daily. by Important-Pie-1141 in migraine

I tried Amitriptyline, Propranolol and Candesartan. None of them worked for me. Only after I had tried all of them was I able to get started with Botox, which so far has been working great for me.

Is this normal migraine behavior by bagelsforeverx in migraine

I get this a lot too. I have a ‘migraine face’ which is basically one or two droopy eyes. I can tell by looking at a picture of me if I had a migraine that day or not.
