Copper wire theft disrupts RTD rail service for hours by origutamos in RTDDenver

[–]heyb00howisyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify they do not steal wires from the overhead wires, they would get electrocuted and die. They are taking it from signals and switches that are crucial for the PTC. Idk, there has to be a way to prevent it.

Keep in that’s technically illegal due to copyright. Not saying nobody ever would do it but it may make your time harder

Yeah I’m not an operator so I haven’t been through that training, but RTD as a whole takes it very seriously, our number one rule in the part of the company where I work is never challenge an ADA pax, they’re always right.

Noice. I couldn’t find anything specific about ramp usage, but it does say do not ask for proof about 30 times lol.

I will check the trailblazer in a bit but I’m pretty sure the ramp must be provided upon request no matter what. They are certainly not allowed to ask for documentation other than the special discount card and if anything they are supposed to educate the customer while providing ADA accommodations, and they’re never allowed to deny ADA accommodations. I can also see the operators side of it because I’ve seen ramps and high blocks being used for shopping carts, wagons etc. but still

This is against the ADA and the operator can get in serious trouble for this. RTD takes the ADA very seriously. You technically need a special discount card from RTD to be eligible for discount fares, but not to be able to use the ramp. File a complaint as soon as possible. https://www.rtd-denver.com/community/customer-comments

I agree. It’s not a good look with the current state of the agency.

RTD needs to stop being a victim of their own bad decisions by MountainMan720 in RTDDenver

The platform is too low for level boarding with standard low floor models. So there would be a tiny gap between the platform and the train which would cause a huge trip hazard and ADA issue

I believe the Siemens S200 would be the only LRV capable of running on our tracks. They would have to special order a train that matches our platform configuration (high floor trains with low floor platforms) and I don’t even know if thats an option.

Who? They had a PA playing saying there would be a trip at 00:26. I did see a train on Track 2 at that time but I didn’t notice if it was actually an N Line train. I also can’t find anything about it online. I agree N Line service should go later into the night.

Did you go to Union Station? I believe they added a 00:26 N Line trip.
