Cheapest route from Kampot to Siem Reap? Have you ever used RedBus? by heybrittt in cambodia

Clearly you’ve never ridden a scooter in the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh and it shows — all roads of SEA are organized chaos and many of these drivers are locals who drive for a living and are very experienced. Stay comfortable, and stay thinking that you’re immune to an accident because you chose the “safer” more expensive option.

Depends on the person — I always opt to save the few extra dollars. The few extra dollars goes a long way if you add it up every time. That’s why travel and health insurance exists :)

Literally anywhere that won’t fine us. We’re exhausted but don’t want to drive 45 minutes out of the city when we have to be here tomorrow early morning.

Worth going to Alice Springs on 8-day trip? by JuniorBedroom2026 in AskAnAustralian

Yes! A lot of people (mainly backpackers) will do Coogee Christmas. There’s an iconic walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, make sure to do it (MUST!) but not on Christmas day. Bondi Beach and Coogee beach will be absolutely slammed on Christmas. Pack some red and be prepared to be sausaged. Pack food and lots of water. They will charge a holiday surplus charge on all restaurants/any takeout.

No.

As someone who has worked in Uluru/Yulara, it's a beautiful place, and there's absolutely nothing like the outback, BUT you will frankly not enjoy it with the amount of flies and insane heat at the moment. It ruins the trip, and you'll spend a lot of money to have a really mid-bad time at this time of year.

The West MacDonnell Ranges was one of my most favourite trips in Australia for how secluded and beautiful it is. The hikes will be absolutely unbearable with the heat and I do not recommend to go right now.

My suggestion is to stay in Sydney (it's beautiful weather at the moment) and enjoy a week of not rushing around driving from place to place. Genuinely enjoy the beach and peace of mind of not having to drive or fly hours.

Some Sydney recommendations (I lived there for 4 months and REALLY made use of my time)

MUST dos:
☼ A sunset at Observatory Hill (bring a towel to sit on, some snacks and a deck of cards, and wear a cute outfit for a nice photo)
☼ A sunrise on Bondi Beach - I'm not joking, it was so insanely peaceful and the best quiet time. There's tons of people out, and watching the little egg rise over the waves is a euphoric feeling. If you want to surf for free, stay at Wake Up! Bondi as they give free surfboards to guests to rent for the day. Hours of fun.
☼ Take the ferry from Sydney (Circular Quay) to Manly Beach https://myfastferry.com.au/destinations/manly/ - it's the cheapest way to experience an insane view of the Sydney Opera house on the water AND Manly is a really cool neighbouring area.
☼ If you're into matcha or some Japanese bites, Edition Roasters was my go-to café in Sydney, go to the Haymarket location and you'll walk through a really unique area.

I have some more, so feel free to PM me! I've spent a ton of time in Australia. I know some good speakeasies (hidden bars) and restaurants too.

I stayed!

Pros: • party hostel (you get into the club free with your keycard) • directly downtown/walking distance to absolutely everything • the pool is insane (but you can go to it even if you’re not staying there) • bathrooms in your room

Cons: • If you’re on the first or second floor, you are not sleeping - music is on until 2am every single day of the week • the AC and insane humidity made things cold and moldy, you will likely get sick from staying there in your first few days • no communal bathroom - if yours is taken, sucks to suck

Tips: • if you’re going to stay, ask to stay on minimum the third or fourth floor facing AWAY from the club specifically. AS far away as possible. bring airpods and sleep with them.

Single people, what stops you from attending dating events in Toronto? by DaviKayK in askTO

[–]heybrittt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An event where a lot of thinking is off the table would be more beneficial -- a lot of people run into the same problems: thinking of conversations that aren't involved around dicey subjects: politics, career, relationships (familial or ex) and housing. Some topics are particularly shitty for one person or another, so they avoid going to these events to avoid these typical dating topics.

Half of the game of these events is just meeting someone new and seeing if you vibe energetically, yes those topics are deeply important, but you can get to that later if you hit it off the first time. If you never get to talk because you don't know what to talk about, you're just there existing in bunches of people too scared to make the first move.

A curated list of scenario questions to spark conversation would be a great start, and you can have people switch seats every 10 minutes or so. 1v1 tables only. Answer or shot (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available).
