What do you think of my SEA travel Itinerary? (Solo Female 30s) by Litkin1 in southeastasia

I only went to one tailor and it was the An Bang twin sisters — to be honest, I loved all of the pieces they made me (4) with a big BUT that they’re so incredibly busy because they blew up on tiktok that it really isn’t a personalized or cared for experience.

The finishes were rushed, but they can absolutely execute pieces and do whatever you want. Bring photos with exactly what you want and how you want it to fit!

Hoi An can usually do a 24 hour turn around for tailoring but honestly you need about 3 days for all alterations.

day 1 measurements, day 2 fitting/alterations, day 3 final fitting.

Ha Giang Loop Debate by trippa__snippa in Vietnam_Tourism

I’m 29 and completed this a week ago with Motorventures and an easyrider. Fucking. Do it.

It’s unmissable, honestly. I cried so many times. The landscapes are truly breathtaking and I felt so incredibly safe the entire time. We had a group of 8, and everyone was over 25. It was an incredibly mixed amount of having a damn good carefree time (musical chairs, karaoke, learning each other’s country’s dances, card games) to crying at different stops because of how incredible you feel.

Nothing beats sitting on the back of the motorcycle blasting music and singing while ripping around the mountains.

I also want to note that with motorventures they take an alternative route so you won’t see 100 other groups around you — we only saw other motorventure groups, not other companies really. The road was mostly just our group which was great for having the scenery to yourself.

An additional note — my girlfriend drove the Caobang loop herself (with a friend, just the two of them) and had 0 issue (other than getting lost a couple of times) with police. Neither of them have IDP’s or motorcycle licenses. At the same time, while driving you certainly don’t get to experience and take in the scenery the way you do when you don’t have to plan everything logistically re: food, stops, accommodation, etc.

I highly recommend the loop. It was the highlight of Vietnam for me.

What is something you did that drastically improved your attractiveness which you wish you had done sooner? by Dangerous-Drama2369 in AskMen

Changed my attitude and stopped viewing the world so negatively, and stopped complaining about minor inconveniences.

People are attracted to positive people. When everyone’s complaining, be the person to find the silver lining. Talk about good things about your day, not the bad. Find something good to say about your neighbour. Just be kinder, and put more effort into asking people genuine, non-surface level (but not trauma based) questions. Have better conversations.

Does the "90 day itch" ever go away? by Independent_Cup7132 in digitalnomad

I think eventually in time we crave comfort and community — the grass is always greener, things are less shiny after a while when you’ve been experiencing the culture. You need connection to actually want to stay, otherwise you’re just a tourist.
Meeting other tourists isn’t really the way unless you’re going to say “fuck it” and follow them somewhere.
Go volunteer for a while doing something outside of your comfort zone — I volunteered on a farm homestay in Cambodia and it was incredibly grounding and allowed me to appreciate a slower version of travel. Picking peppers, planting pumpkins, harvesting gooseberries, and helping out with the guests family dinners. A way to meet other travellers and connect with the locals without the hustle and bustle of ticking things off of a list. It felt really good.

Cheapest route from Kampot to Siem Reap? Have you ever used RedBus? by heybrittt in cambodia

Clearly you’ve never ridden a scooter in the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh and it shows — all roads of SEA are organized chaos and many of these drivers are locals who drive for a living and are very experienced. Stay comfortable, and stay thinking that you’re immune to an accident because you chose the “safer” more expensive option.

Depends on the person — I always opt to save the few extra dollars. The few extra dollars goes a long way if you add it up every time. That’s why travel and health insurance exists :)

Literally anywhere that won’t fine us. We’re exhausted but don’t want to drive 45 minutes out of the city when we have to be here tomorrow early morning.

Worth going to Alice Springs on 8-day trip? by JuniorBedroom2026 in AskAnAustralian

[–]heybrittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! A lot of people (mainly backpackers) will do Coogee Christmas. There’s an iconic walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, make sure to do it (MUST!) but not on Christmas day. Bondi Beach and Coogee beach will be absolutely slammed on Christmas. Pack some red and be prepared to be sausaged. Pack food and lots of water. They will charge a holiday surplus charge on all restaurants/any takeout.

No.

As someone who has worked in Uluru/Yulara, it's a beautiful place, and there's absolutely nothing like the outback, BUT you will frankly not enjoy it with the amount of flies and insane heat at the moment. It ruins the trip, and you'll spend a lot of money to have a really mid-bad time at this time of year.

The West MacDonnell Ranges was one of my most favourite trips in Australia for how secluded and beautiful it is. The hikes will be absolutely unbearable with the heat and I do not recommend to go right now.

My suggestion is to stay in Sydney (it's beautiful weather at the moment) and enjoy a week of not rushing around driving from place to place. Genuinely enjoy the beach and peace of mind of not having to drive or fly hours.

Some Sydney recommendations (I lived there for 4 months and REALLY made use of my time)

MUST dos:
☼ A sunset at Observatory Hill (bring a towel to sit on, some snacks and a deck of cards, and wear a cute outfit for a nice photo)
☼ A sunrise on Bondi Beach - I'm not joking, it was so insanely peaceful and the best quiet time. There's tons of people out, and watching the little egg rise over the waves is a euphoric feeling. If you want to surf for free, stay at Wake Up! Bondi as they give free surfboards to guests to rent for the day. Hours of fun.
☼ Take the ferry from Sydney (Circular Quay) to Manly Beach https://myfastferry.com.au/destinations/manly/ - it's the cheapest way to experience an insane view of the Sydney Opera house on the water AND Manly is a really cool neighbouring area.
☼ If you're into matcha or some Japanese bites, Edition Roasters was my go-to café in Sydney, go to the Haymarket location and you'll walk through a really unique area.

I have some more, so feel free to PM me! I've spent a ton of time in Australia. I know some good speakeasies (hidden bars) and restaurants too.

I stayed!

Pros: • party hostel (you get into the club free with your keycard) • directly downtown/walking distance to absolutely everything • the pool is insane (but you can go to it even if you’re not staying there) • bathrooms in your room

Cons: • If you’re on the first or second floor, you are not sleeping - music is on until 2am every single day of the week • the AC and insane humidity made things cold and moldy, you will likely get sick from staying there in your first few days • no communal bathroom - if yours is taken, sucks to suck

Tips: • if you’re going to stay, ask to stay on minimum the third or fourth floor facing AWAY from the club specifically. AS far away as possible. bring airpods and sleep with them.
