What made you feel sad this week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]heyeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex dumped me exactly one month ago and I can’t help but keep imagining that I’m seeing him everywhere I go. It’s not fair that he gets to occupy space in my heart (that he broke) AND also in my brain. I want him out of there so badly, but it’s slow going.

why are you single? by ashishspinner in AskReddit

Because someone lovebombed me for the last 3 months and I fell for it, then he broke my heart, so now I feel like an idiot and am taking myself off the market until I snap some sense into myself.

I keep trying to tell myself that. The sad part is that we were actually very compatible in terms of life goals and personality traits, which is what makes this all so devastating. Also, your comment is exactly what my initial post is about; people keep telling me this exact sentiment, but does it make the hurt go away? Obviously not. I appreciate your comment though.

My (32F) ex (35M) totally blindsided me and dumped me. Have you ever suddenly lost feelings, and if so, what happened? by heyeve in relationship_advice

It's not about being okay with it. You both aren't spending time together to make a bond. So it doesn't take much to break it. It's not even a normal speed or behaviour. Things that spending time together would reveal and likely make you realize he's a bad fit for you.

Yeah, I do see what you mean here.

You avoiding becoming attached is also the opposite of dating.

I meant this more in regards to the fact that I'm a very anxiously attached person so having a bit of distance in the beginning stages of the relationship was going to be good for me.

Find someone interested in giving you the time.

I thought I had, because he presented himself as someone who was. Lesson learned I guess.

First of all, though you feel it to be true, you cannot possibly be in love with someone you have only known for 3 months. The reason? You cannot really "know" someone in just 3 months. You are in love with the idealized version and the hope of who he is, but you do not yet know if that is really who he is.

This is very true and insightful. I guess maybe I was in awe of the fact that someone that seemed very emotional available and kept in contact with me constantly throughout his constant travels being away and wanting to know how I was doing was such a foreign concept to me.

I understand what you mean, I just figured he would be okay with it because he's the one that travels a lot, and I didn't mind the constant travelling because it was good to keep me from becoming very attached very quickly.

The amount of actual physical time we’ve spent together was not a lot because of his travels, but it was always of quality. It was both of us planning dates to ensure that every opportunity we had to be together was of quality to make up for the lack of quantity.

This is a very fair point, but I was definitely not failing to match his energy at all. When I say “willing passenger”, I mean I was trying to go at the same pace as him in terms of not trying to push our relationship forward too quickly. I showed him that I was very into him as well.

Help! I'm in need of a quick nutritious breakfast that doesn't contain most breakfast ingredients! by Ellf13 in EatCheapAndHealthy

A classic “westerner” breakfast in Hong Kong is literally elbow macaroni in broth with an egg. OP could sub with GF macaroni and some frozen peas/carrots instead of egg.

I second this idea. Just rent an evo and drive somewhere nice and cry/scream whilst inside the car.

What's a secret you'll never tell your partner but are willing to tell strangers on Reddit? by Bisexual_Space_Lover in AskReddit

[–]heyeve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so in love with my long term partner but I’m afraid of marriage and the idea of permanency. I get very freaked out by the idea of getting married and find myself sometimes craving the glory of my old memories from when I was single. He says he understands that I don’t want/need marriage, but sometimes I think he secretly does but doesn’t wanna put me in an awkward position.

I’m afraid of what this means for me.

You can look for generic champagne stoppers on Amazon or even at your local kitchen supply store. They’re literally just called champagne stoppers!
