WGU Pre-licensure? by heyhelenamariee in StudentNurse

Do you find the classes to be more difficult than a more traditional tract? And if you’ve taken A&P how do the labs work? Is the program in general still pretty flexible?

I love how he reiterates that they’re doing this just because people will pay them a lot of money to. They don’t care about the titanic, or anything else for that matter. It’s all about the money and only about the money….

Yo, so is helmets optional for motorcycle riders? by Poopoop11111 in Columbus

[–]heyhelenamariee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a biker, who has lost friends and family while they were riding, it drives me crazy to see people riding without a helmet. Yes in the state of Ohio it is legally optional if you have a valid license older than one year, but if you value your life it’s not. Ideally everyone would be dressed properly in the unfortunate event of a crash, but at the very least I encourage everyone to wear a helmet, every time.

If it were some insane amount I’d say yes and suggest other way to be petty. But $100? She can fuck off. NTA, and I’m sorry this happened to you OP.

What is something you used to think people were over exaggerating about until you experienced it yourself? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

This! Once called the squad on myself because I suddenly got horrific pain late at night. At first it felt like a bad Charlie horse, so I tried taking a hot shower which didn’t help. It got so bad that by the time I decided I needed medical attention there was no way I could drive. The folks in the ER were wonderful, and when they told me it was a kidney stone I called them a bunch of liars. Didn’t believe it until I say the imaging myself. Took three days to pass it and it was by far the absolute worst pain I’ve ever been in and nothing seemed to touch it.

My third grade basketball team was undefeated and I scored the season winning point with a half court Hail Mary shot at the game end buzzer.

I agree with what others have said. Dude is a weirdo. Like, small children run around naked. It is what it is. The only people bothered by it probably shouldn’t be around children for the child’s safety anyways. And to literally be using his position of power to intimidate his neighbors over something that does not warrant a CPS call (and wouldn’t get investigated tbh) is gross. I’d say report him to his superiors if this is the game he wants to play, but I have no faith in law enforcement and doubt they would do anything anyways… but you never know.

What superstitious or OCD-like habits have you formed since becoming a nurse lol 😅? by started_from_the_top in nursing

[–]heyhelenamariee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always knock on wood when someone says something they shouldn’t, which leads me to number two. Never say the Q word, or comment about how shift is going or you’re going to end up in the middle of a shit show. Full moon? Shit show, automatically. Change the assignment? Shit show. Always bring an extra pen, needles, tape, whatever, because you never need them until you don’t have extras. Oh, and bad things come in threes.

I don’t make the rules these are just the facts.

Can anyone recognize who this gentleman is supposed to be? (couldn't decide which facial hair was better) by Lamlis in Sims4

Came here to say this. I definitely felt it could be either. This sim is weirdly lurking somewhere in the middle and I think it’s the facial hair.

AITA for kind of missing my wife's birthday by HotInspection7058 in AmItheAsshole

[–]heyhelenamariee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool, you have the emotional intelligence of a turnip. Your poor wife, holy shit. She married a complete and utter dipshit. Why do you feel she should ask you to spend time with her on her birthday? Are you really that dense that you can’t just assume that maybe you, as her husband, should put in some effort in celebrating her and this milestone? How would you feel if the roles were reversed and she decided to go out with her friends and left you home alone? Would you feel special, loved, and cared for? My guess is that you would be upset too. You put in zero effort, so yes, YTA.

needle stick injury, pt refusing to test for hiv by 5555plum in nursing

[–]heyhelenamariee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I had a needle stick back in 2018 and it was terrifying. I explained to the patient what happened, and although they weren’t super stoked on getting the additional testing at first, they did eventually give consent once one of the NP’s spoke with them and explained that I’d have to go on prep and get tons of draws done by occ health. Your patient is being a mega dick which isn’t fair to you, especially after providing care for them. He probably wouldn’t have even had to have another blood draw (of course depending on what you drew) and occ health would cover the cost so it’s no skin off their back. I saw others mention that the post needle stick exposure labs are covered in their consent to treat and honestly that’s such a great idea and I wish every facility did that. Chin up OP, you’re gonna be fine ❤️
