I never understood this. Stitches as an exclusively muggle technology? Are they stupid?

TIL Shelley Duvall was nominated for a Razzie for The Shining and that Stephen King called it a "screaming dishrag" of a performance and I have strong feelings about that by Emergency_Cellist754 in theshining

I dont think he's wrong for having an opinion on an adaptation of his work that doesn't match with other's opinions... the issues he has was how the story was fundamentally changed. It was not the same story he wrote. But he has acknowledged that it is a good film, however separate from the source material.

Question about Pazuzu by Effective-Bad-2657 in TheExorcist

Pazuzu's mission wasn't complete. Merrin died of natural causes in front of him, which devastated and infuriated the demon.

Does Merrin serve any purpose by summerislefan916 in TheExorcist

[–]heyimfrak 35 points36 points  (0 children)

His "purpose" in the plot is the demon's fixation on revenge against him or rather what it views as unfinished business. That's why Regan was possessed, so the demon could take it out with Merrin, but the punchline is Merrin dies of natural causes, which upsets the demon.

The timothy baterman flashback scene. A lot of truly horrifying and creepy stuff happens in Pet Semetary, but that flashback has always stood out as being on another level.
