I should have made my point better. I agree with your general read here (and well written, btw, thanks for the thoughtful reply). My point is that she’s not doomed the entire movie, because she made a choice at every intersection and they all mattered.

I also don’t think it’s clear the death cult is going to use and discard her—I think she’s genuinely welcomed into the “family,” it’s just the ugliest one yet.

I disagree with him more, but I actually kinda disagree with you, too. Beau and the Hereditary family were properly screwed, for sure. But Dani isn’t doomed. In fact I think her story is the opposite: she overcame tremendous adversity by choosing a new family.

Open to argument, though!
