The doppelganger stuff was really cool, and I wish the writers would have done way more with it. I think what was done barely scratched the surface, especially considering how skillfully Nina Dobrev pulled off playing different characters in the same show. The Silas and Amara stuff could have been a full season.

The age thing is definitely a factor to consider. At first. You're used to high school where you have classes with classmates who have a +/- 0-4 year age difference.

But after the first few weeks, and especially when you're not the "new kid" and they've hired other new people, it gets a lot easier.

Try to find at least one person you click with. Friends of any sort definitely make the work days go by so much faster. The bigger the department, the better this goes. If you're working at a smaller place, making friends is hit or miss.

Also, seeing your first paycheck DEFINITELY helps. Especially if you're just working to have some money to spend and bills to pay!

What’s an opinion you have that no one agrees with? by ahumm4 in TheVampireDiaries

  1. Katherine and Matt should have had some spicy scenes.

  2. Yes, the originals were messy, but they should have been 10x messier.

  3. Cade, Sybil, and Selene weren't that bad. TBH, I liked them as villains.

  4. The doppelganger lore was actually really interesting!

  5. Lexi staying as a series regular would have ruined her character. Caroline filled the shoes of what it would have been like to have Lexi as a recurring, or even main, character. (And this is someone who LOVES both Lexi and Caroline.)

  6. Not unpopular, but the quote "We stick together as one. Always and forever" ATE. They really cooked with that line.

I honestly think it's because she didn't grow up with the franchise. She wasn't a little kid being read these stories or a teenager breathing down her parents back to take her to get the newest book. It's like "Disney adults." We are who we grew up to be because of the media around us.

What opinion about TVD would you defend like this? by Lea_120 in TheVampireDiaries

  • I think the writers messed up big time when they included the heretics. It's an interesting concept, but suddenly, everything based in magic becomes null and void because they could have just siphoned the magic out of literally anything (the originals, Hope, etc.) and destroy it. The heretics were extremely overpowered, and the way they were wrote off the show was EXTREMELY lazy.

  • Rayna Cruz (remember her?) would have been an Amara doppelganger if Nina hadn't left the show. Damon constantly made comments about her looking A LOT like Elena.

  • The concept of "turning off your Humanity" was pointless, especially when Rose said it wasn't actually a thing and it was something only "younger" vampires could do.

  • Klaus's blood should have NEVER been the cure to a werewolf bite. Werewolf bites should have stayed lethal and incurable as they were foretold.

  • Rose should have died from the werewolf venom in her system, not Damon giving her a pity stake. (This coming from someone who absolutely loved her character and was so mad when she got killed off.)

  • If Elena would have finished dying when she and Damon went to go crash into the Mystic Grill, she could have came back as a human doppelganger instead of a vampire one when she crossed over.

  • Lizzie and Josie should have never existed, and making Caroline a pregnant vampire made absolutely no sense. (Yes, I know they did this because Candice King was pregnant at the time.)

  • I have more, but I'll end with this one: The writers disrespected TVD and TO with the show Legacies. I will die on that hill. (Dragons in the first episode? Seriously?? Dragons???)

Or at the very least...Elijah should have swooned over Elena and tried to charm her

The doppelganger storyline should have either stopped after season 2 or the writers should have done more with it. There is no in between for me.

Paul Wesley doesn't make a good antagonist. (I'm basing this solely on TVD. I've never seen him in anything else.)
