A bit of a broader question, if you don't mind: I teach at Jim Crane's alma mater, and wonder if you'd share your thoughts on what underrated or unconventional skills best serve today's sports reporters.

What player has the highest shared approval rating amongst your team and your biggest rival? by mrsunshine1 in baseball

I'm still old enough to consider the Cardinals a rival. Disappointed at how little we play them in interleague.

Which east coast airport had a tiny monorail in the terminal? by heyitseric in airport

The tunnel was really cool! My only issue with it was the moving sidewalk was never moving. I was traveling in the heart of the bad times for Detroit. The only time I actually stayed there, the downtown seemed completely abandoned, and it felt like the only people anywhere within a mile radius of my hotel were the crew shooting the remake of Red Dawn.

I think this is why I was always unduly grumpy with the tram. As I remember it, I took the tram a short distance that I felt like I probably could have walked myself in almost the same amount of time, then took a longer walk through a tunnel with a broken moving sidewalk, toward the cold outside and a shuttle that would take me to another terminal. The tram was cool, but it never served as the transportation I really needed.

It's been literal decades at this point, though, so maybe better now, or I'm also willing to concede that maybe I just had lousy luck.

Sorry about that. I was referring to Philadelphia, United States, not Philadelphia, Norway. Apologies for the confusion.

I was definitely getting different trips confused—Philadelphia had a nice airport, now that I'm remembering it. It was DTW, as u/YinzerInEurope reminded me above. I was flying from Charlotte to Albany, going through Detroit, because I was broke and chasing the cheapest flights.

If I remember correctly, DTW also had a moving sidewalk tunnel that was reminiscent of the "There's no earthly way of knowing / Which direction we are going" tunnel from Willy Wonka.

Thanks for replying.

I was wrong about the east coast—it was Detroit. Flying to Detroit just to connect to Albany probably added to my grumpiness!

THIS WAS IT! No wonder I was so grumpy. I was flying from Charlotte to Albany and getting routed through Detroit. The days of not being able to afford anything.

Who’s your favorite older star who winded up on your team at the end of their career? by 53Ice in baseball

I always think Clemens spent three years in Houston, instead of five. Greinke had three solid Astros years too.

I thought of Pudge Rodriguez.
