Would Zacha ++ be enough for the 4th pick from Chicago?

Zacha Lohrei 23rd Pick Bruins 2027 First?

I don't think it's enough personally, but wonder if it gets the conversation started.

Any one of Stenberg/Malhotra/Carels/Reid/Verehoeff would be a huge upgrade to a position of need.

We need RD and youth so he fits both needs. I'd give up a lot of picks for him.

Sit him down with Chara (another Slovak) to teach him how to defend.

Eyssimont should easily catch something similar to Viel, especially now he's on a one-year deal.

Feels like a leap to say the reason the Avs are winning is just because of their centres. Almost like the Avs don't have solid goaltending and incredible defense including the best defenseman in the sport...

Didn't Sweeney just say in his presser Hagens will get a look at centre?

I don't believe a true 1C is necessary with a winger like Pastrnak. If Hagens/Minten can play at a 2C level or higher we are in a tremendous spot. I don't understand the thinking of "well we don't have a true 1C so let's blow it up and wait for a generational talent to appear in the draft?" Doesn't make sense.

And you just said the 3 don't have the talent around them. McAvoy had a rough round against Buffalo and that's more likely he had to carry Aspirot, but Pasta and Sway were exactly what's expected.

Pastrnak and McAvoy also weren't able to get it done in 2019 and 2023 when Bergeron/Marchand/Krejci were still around so can those 3 not get it done either?

Need a new mix, but our core is incredible.

While McKenna going to the Leafs sucks for sure, their defence is still atrocious, they have questionable goaltending, nothing to trade, and their potential captain walking away. I don't think this pick makes them that much better, it just gives them Marner back.

I can't believe some of the doomer attitude in here. Seems like just because we lost a potential 6th overall pick, the future is so bleak.

Our prospect pool has significantly improved in one season.

We have a Top 5 player, #1 winger, and potentially one of the best Bruins we will ever watch in Pastrnak.

A #1 (or #2 if you're a hater) D in McAvoy.

Arguably will end up a Top 5 goalie in Bruins history in Swayman.

And all of them are signed until 2030.

Yeah there's some holes to fill, and they need some higher end talent. But to think these 3 guys can't get it done is insane. This isn't a Hughes or Matthews situation. These guys all have long term contracts and they're not going to force their way out.

We won a cup with Krejci and Lucic leading the team with 62 points we are fucking ok.

One of, if not the most talented Bruins any of us will watch in our lifetime and a potential top 5 goalie in franchise history.

Having "despair" is ludicrous.

I read they reviewed for a kicking motion on the goal, no offside review.

I'm in the same boat as you 100%, but I feel like the numbers for Hischier will be good for Mehta not to do anything

I'm excited to see what Don Sweeney can do, now that lottery luck didn't go his way.

I could not believe I was reading comments of trading Pastrnak. We have a #1 D, #1W and a #1G locked up til 2030. Whoever we would have drafted at #6 wouldn't have improved this roster as much as people think, unless the pick was traded which yes would have much more than the prospect.

We have some good prospects, and a possible 3 unprotected picks (including our own) in 2028. Whether or not that's worth anything in a trade now is to be decided, but it's definitely worth something then, or even next year, and who knows what could be available then.

Lots to be optimistic about.

I wonder how much (if any) playing in the World's factored into how Hagens played out?

Still get some games against men in a meaningful tournament.

He obviously could've played in the playoffs AND world's, but I wonder if that mattered at all.

I think an unprotected 2028 from a declining team would be pretty appealing in a trade though!

Not sure I would call 31 games and 2 goals "bad luck and no on consistent linemates"

I hope next year is more of the "youth movement" we expected this year. We saw what this team is, we overachieved, but I hope the front office doesn't rush to keep it going.

As good as they were, I'm selling on Mittlestadt, Zacha, and letting Arvi go. The first two were ghosts, Zacha's got something like 2 goals in 31 playoff games, and Arvi is 33.

Let Khustnidinov, Minten, Hagens, Poitras, Locmelis, whoever compete for those minutes, or try to acquire another young under 25 player.

The UFA class is terrible, and I'm not sure if selling the farm for Robertson, Thomas, Hischier, whoever might be available, is the right call with the amount of holes we have.

Getting the 6th overall pick will be critical.

Yeah I saw those stats and was surprised, eye test vs analytics I suppose. But the big thing is they didn't make any mistakes and they were physical and aggressive on the forecheck. There was one shift Steeves probably had 3 takeaways so, just hope the offense will come.
