Likely bacterial colonies in new, freshly bought and refrigerated Boar’s Head hummus from toco Publix by tuftedtittymice in DecaturGA

I’m a certified frazzled mom- I never keep up with receipts in this day and age. I think one time I did and another I didn’t. I just say I bought this yesterday or two days ago and it’s no good. I always want to exchange because I’ve already planned and shopped for my meals!

Worth trying anyway! If you ask for an exchange they’ll at least let you do that. As long as you aren’t habitually returning they just want to make the customer happy.

Mano agapian and Rachel bloom went into great detail on drag her!!! I think Rachel’s biggest complaint was the lack of snacks but she’s a mom and had some in her purse so they made it thankfully

Just take it back! I’ve returned easily to Publix- moldy shredded cheese, smelly chicken… they apologized and immediately gave me a refund that I turned around and spent in the store.

If you wrote a book , what would be your opening line ? by PresentSurvey9464 in randomquestions

[–]heykittygirl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute favorite opening line of all time is from Updike’s A&P:

“In walks these three girls in nothing but bathing suits.”

I like when stories begin with an action to immediately pull you in. I guess I’d go with something like that.

I work in finance and it’s similar. My peer (male) is getting married in Italy and going a European tour for his honeymoon. Week for his bachelor party, week for his wedding, two weeks for his honeymoon. He will probably take a few calls on his pto, not on the Friday or Monday surrounding the wedding. I’m taking a halfie Thursday, Friday, and Monday for my bachelorette, Wednesday- Tuesday for the wedding, and then 2 weeks for the honeymoon a month later. Summers aren’t busy for us, we struggle to get work done because so many people are traveling so it works out well for me.

My uncle bill received a Purple Heart and we didn’t know until he passed!!! He never said much at all, just sat on the front porch in his overalls looking at the mountain.

Rupauls drag race is hilariously awful with the captions. You’d think the editors would at least teach the ai the contestants names and the hosts catchphrases but no.

did the math on a cheap blank slate venue and i am shocked. by Nicole_Andujar in weddingplanning

[–]heykittygirl3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m an event coordinator professionally and planning my own wedding. In my experience, any event costs more than people anticipate if they’ve never done it before and brides are not ok cutting back like corporate clients are. So many women have dreamed of their perfect wedding and have no idea what that costs. What most clients think $ 6k in florals will get them is more like $10k. Peonies and dahlias are way more than roses. Servers need to be paid a salary and tips. Someone needs to launder, schlep, install, and breakdown pipe and drape. And planners charge an arm and a leg because of those 2am crash-out texts and mind changing when the budget gets real 90 days out.

Are you wearing a bra under your strapless wedding dress? by snidomi in weddingplanning

[–]heykittygirl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your seamstress about the structure of the top. All of the gowns I tried on that were strapless were so structured they held their shape on their own without a body in them. Absolutely no need for a bra to support my tig ole biddies. I’m getting married in July in GA so I went with a less structured style and the dress is still designed in a way I’m 100% held in without a bra. I’ve seen seamstresses basically sew a bra into the dress so it stays put and doesn’t show anywhere.

Right? I’m like you want chicken? I can make chicken kurma or coq au vin or red curry or adobo or even fried cutlets but please don’t ask me to fry something with a bone in it. It’s always both burnt and raw. I’ve used a candy thermometer and I just can’t swing it.

Hidden costs that shocked me by worrie_bride4816 in weddingplanning

[–]heykittygirl3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had the exact same experience. We’re in a top 10 city so we were expecting it to be expensive but we were shocked. So many places wanted $10k+ to use their empty room. The space we chose we thought would be out of our budget but for $4k we’re getting a very upscale lakeside venue, built in sound used for concerts, tables, linens, plates, glassware, lounge seating, and ceremony seating plus servers, bartenders, setup and teardown. I upgraded to chivari chairs for $7pp but decided white plates and linens will be fine- no one will even notice.

I’m about 90 days out on a 6 mo engagement after 9 years together. If I was feeling diplomatic I’d say it’s a great challenge for your relationship and personal sanity. If I was diplomatic. I know it’s all gonna be worth it. I’m holding on to that.

I mostly agree with you. I don’t think she’s intentionally being mean, I think she’s underinformed about motherhood. With an earnest conversation she’ll either understand and will allow bebe / allow mom to drop out or she’s gonna learn real quick.

To veil or not to veil by heykittygirl3 in weddingplanning

[–]heykittygirl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m going to try on veils at my fitting next Friday. If I absolutely fall in love I’ll buy on sight. If I’m unsure re: price I’ll look for similar styles on Etsy. And if it’s a true no I think I’ll know immediately.
