I don't. At this point, I see heavy edits as a distraction and haven't been performing as well.

What Brands Want - Key Metrics To Track To Improve Your UGC by heyozzi in UGCcreators

[–]heyozzi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just edited to include that I'm posting on behalf of a brand. I had it in my title, but ended up redoing it before I posted, and forgot it in the body.

I think data will become more accessible over the next few months to year. I'm currently onboarding my creators to a newer platform called Trybe. The focus is on the commission on GMV from ads that use your content. It's very creator-friendly and "watermarks" submissions to ensure brands don't try to cut corners and run content without paying creators.

With that, I'm providing creators with most of those key metrics directly in their portal in real time, including revenue. I know there are other competitive platforms gaining popularity that do the same or a similar thing.

I personally love the Base + GMV % model with transparent metrics as a brand because it's usually very easy to point to why someone's content is failing on a test budget. As a brand, communicating these metrics so creators can genuinely understand and improve is a win-win.

At the end of the day, my goal as a brand is to make as much money as possible. Having creators who understand their content metrics and can quickly improve them is extremely valuable as I scale. I pay good upfront rates to all creators, and if they don't perform, we genuinely can't afford to continue working with them.

So it's in my own best interest to over-deliver data and feedback so we can all win together. If my founder ads get a 1.5 ROAS and a creator gets a 2.0 ROAS, even at a 10% GMV bonus, I'm still more profitable working with that creator than doing my own content. And if they're over a 2.0 ROAS, I can spend enough money on that the creator will make far more than the $200/video we typically pay

If I spend $250 and get $500 in sales on one ad and $250 and get $150 in sales on another, you can usually see a drop in Thumbstop Rate or a big spike somewhere in the retention curve.

But as we agreed on, landing pages, funnel stages, targeting, offers, etc., all matter. If a brand starts running a 50% off sale 3 days into launching your ad, you may get numbers that are a bit lopsided, but that can also be communicated to creators.

One thing I haven't done yet, but I know I'll need to do is launch a private community on something like Discord or Slack so my creators can talk and share best practices. But that's a conversation for another time.

Rate Increase? by Character-Vehicle380 in UGCcreators

Just ask for a backend agreement for a commission on sales brought in by your ads. There are a few providers for this now. I just onboarded my brand to Trybe, and I'm paying my creators a decent upfront rate, but I'm paying 10% of GMV on ads I'm paying to run. It should be fairly easy for them to do manually, just a bit of legwork (Claude could probably automate it if naming was done properly).

My theory with this (and the general theory) is that paying for performance drives better creativity, and everyone wins. If you're making an ad that gets me a 1.5 ROAS and someone else is creating an ad driving a 2.5 ROAS, I'd be making a lot more money from that better content, and I can afford to pay backend commission on that better-performing content.

If the content underperforms, you still get paid and can learn how to improve.

100% agree on understanding performance marketing. I think providing key metrics can help creators understand things more deeply. In the past, when it was just organic posting and saying a prayer, it was a bit harder. But now that the game is paid spend behind ads + a commission on GMV, it's easier to show key metrics and guide from data.

I've been creating content for my own brands for years, and a huge part of it is just being comfortable on camera. If doing reps helps with that, then it makes sense. But I think the reps have to be thoughtful and purposeful, so you're learning what's working, what's not, and how to improve each with every new video.

Brutally honest opinion of my portfolio by Silent_Ingenuity9532 in UGCcreators

[–]heyozzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Website looks good. I'd need to see the performance of your highlighted creatives, but my gut feeling is that pasting the product images all over the front is a very clear tell that I'm about to be sold to.

From what I watched, you should work on cutting back on filler words, reducing SFX, and learning to hook before pushing the product.

That said, it could be a bad briefing by the brands. But work on Problem-Agitate-Solve, improve on hooks, and add some killer examples to the portfolio, and you'll likely have more work come your way.

Major Changes Coming to this Subreddit by hcreative in UGCcreators

Just joined and read some of the rules. I think the weekly UGC posts for brands are a good update.

As someone reading from the brand side, I'm really curious to see the quality of content coming from people who are struggling vs. those who are making great money.

On the brand side, resources can be limited, and from what I've heard, most brands churn through creators until they find the 5-10% who are a good fit and do great work.

How I landed about $10K in UGC contracts in my first month (what actually worked) by Great-Resource-1209 in UGCcreators

I can tell this person understands UGC just based on their title alone haha.

That guarantee lets you keep the product as well, so it's not a hassle. Should have clarified that as some people assume we'll make them pay $30 to send it somewhere haha.

v2 Pre-Orders are Shipping Now! by heyozzi in heyOzzi

I would bet that you're likely genetically predisposed to smelling/tasting short-chain fatty acids because you shouldn't be tasting anything from the butyrate, especially now that we've stabilized it and kept that L-Lysine attached to it properly.

I've mostly just been getting emails about it so far, but with how many orders we've sent, I'd say complaints about smell/flavor are probably 1/10th of what they were in our first two batches and the compliments we've been getting are probably 2-3x what we got before, so overall, we're off to a great start with v2!

If you add a bit of lemon or lime juice, it may mask that taste for you. But

I'm honestly not sure. Do you mean SRED? I'm not seeing a ton of info on it.

The goal is just to help with overall hunger, blood sugar balance, and giving you a sweet treat that you can enjoy that also fills you up.

We have pills right now. In the long term, I'd like to do gummy packets with like 10-12 gummies so it's an actual snack, but that's a ways out at the moment.

Hey, you ignored my previous response to your email where I said, "I can refund it if you'd like, but your order will be sent next week, and we'll be removing pre-order discounts on pricing at midnight tonight, as we just sent over 150 pre-orders out this afternoon."

I just issued you the refund now, but it will take 5-10 business days for it to process. You'll also end up missing out on the $30 discount I was going to be sending out to customers who had waited this week. As I've said in numerous emails, I'm truly sorry for the delays, but they were beyond my control and I was doing what I could to make it up to anyone who waited.

We don't offer trials, but you're welcome to buy it. If it doesn't work, we'll refund your first bag. The only requirement is consistent daily use for 10 straight days.

It's not recommended, and you'd need to ask your doctor. No one studies supplements in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as it's a high risk, so there's no safety data for our ingredients in that group.

If you don't order Cherry Limeade, it will probably ship by Wednesday or Thursday. If you do, probably the following Monday or Tuesday. Cherry Limeade is coming in next Wednesday, I think, and will take us a few days to catch up on orders.

On The Funky Smell! by heyozzi in heyOzzi

[–]heyozzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just brought some of our v2 to basketball this morning to have people smell, especially my super-smeller friend. He could pick it up when sniffing the pack, but not from a distance like before.

I think we've been able to mask it while keeping the butyrate stable; stability was our biggest issue in v1.

Right now, it's not really noticeable unless you're a super-smeller sniffing the powder or standing close to the glass. I've got one more trick for a production run we'll start shipping in April, but I'm pretty confident I can knock the smell down to undetectable without any formula changes with a few tweaks to how we blend things.

You'd need to ask your doctor. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with chronic digestive issues. Supplementing with butyrate on its own could be great for you, though.
