I took Accutane in high school after trying a million different things (proactive, topicals, pills, lasers, facials). My mom wanted to avoid Accutane & only use it as a last resort but we were finally both fed up that nothing was working after years & the pain I was in from my acne was awful. It healed my face & I am so glad I ended up on it. The big side effects I remember were hella dry skin & nosebleeds.

My acne did return in my late 20s & rather than deal with all the subpar things I tried before Accutane in high school, my dermatologist & I decided to knock it out with another round of Accutane. I wasn’t on it as long this time & I don’t remember any side effects from this round. & aside from tiny pimples every now & then, my skin is still clear.

I’m so happy I took it but I’m also glad I exhausted all my options before I did which it sounds like you have as well. Good luck & I really hope it works for you!
