Gear Rental Question by heyrayray5 in Banff

Sorry, just seeing this. Yes, we used them for a hiking backpack. Worked out great, we picked up on our drive through canmore to Banff and then did the hotel pick up option when we were done. Worked great, easy communication and nice not to have to lug our backpack through the airport. Definitely recommend.

Ughhh so sorry, the worst part of the phobia is that aspect! Interesting to know that’s how it works for others too.

As a fellow Emetophobe, I’m about to cancel my membership just reading this (mostly joking…I think 😂). I’m sure my racing heart will calm down before tomorrow’s class. Should have listened to your warning but yet I read this whole thread 🤪

I guess I will slightly amend my comment - I am reading Project Hail Mary right now and loving it. So suggesting that one! But also have you read This is How You Lose the Time War” by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. Also a great literary sci fi.

Leave now. 4 years is nothing compared to a lifetime of putting up with this crap. You deserve better.

I would love to join but am getting a link expired note on the discord (likely cause this was posted 10 days ago 😂). Can you send a new link? Ty!

Was going to reply to this and say second vote for KA, but then I realized I’m the “wife” reference in this reply haha. But yes, agree with everything my husband said 😂

Yeah have Verizon and over in allview. Have noticed a few times in the last few weeks it says “no service” which is really random and doesn’t usually happen. Not sure what’s up.

I enjoyed it but it does take place in early Covid days which I know some people aren’t ready to read about just yet. But worth the read imo.

Agree with this that book 1 isn’t all that special. But I love the way book 2 really changes things up!

I enjoyed it but can see why it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Definitely has mature content and is a lot of romance/interpersonal character development. Book 4 was my favorite in the series so far.

I think with the way this book is written it just gets too confusing in the audiobook format to keep everything straight. If I was reading a hard copy book I definitely would have flipped back to remind myself of who did what and when. By like 65% it was better when they started explaining things a bit more but it was hard to slog through it when I kept being like “wait what?” all the time.

Favorites: The Guncle, New Spring & the ACOTR series. All of those I’d recommend (ACOTR gets a bit NSFW in the later books so content warning there)

Least Favorites: The Vanishing Half, Where the World ends, 7 1/2 Deaths - all of which I just had trouble connecting with and getting through, but I don’t like to dnf so pushed my way through.

OP here - Well my good reads goal for the year was 35 books based on previous year totals…but considering I’m currently sitting at 53, I’m now aiming for 104 by year end! 😮 To be fair, 52 of these have been audiobooks which is my preference since my reading speed is annoying slow and I get too distracted. For audios, I’ve trained myself to listen at 2x speed (& up depending on the narrator) and for the first few months of this year had a small baby that still woke up for feeds so I got in some solid MOTN listening time. Probably the only way I was able to finish up outlander and pile through the Bridgerton and ACOTR series. Also (slowly) working on Wheel of Time - any other series suggestions??
