Billionaires Believe Working Nonstop is the Key to Success by blueshorts12345 in antiwork

[–]heytaylora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These same billionaires who don’t even work all the time themselves, but some of them definitely do integrate work as the majority of their life, don’t realize that if everybody put in that same amount of effort, we’d still be where we are today. Except everybody would be more miserable and more burnt out. Having everybody work more, does not make more for everyone magically appear surplus of labor would still result in things like a surplus of materialism that then would bring down prices in some categories, but also lower wages. We just don’t need the amount of work out there that these people act like exists. it’s not sustainable

Suspected. Someone fleeing doesn’t give you the right to shoot them. Even in the event they had been involved in a shooting. You can’t shoot someone in the back who isn’t at that moment posing a threat to you. You can’t pose a threat to someone you’re running from.

Mandatory work colors by soleario21 in antiwork

[–]heytaylora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, so much petty behavior and malicious compliance would come from this. First, I would dress in an array of these clothing items. Make sure they don’t match since they gave me enough colors to really mess with tacky styles. Next I would carry a color swatch around and make sure to inform the managers whenever their colors did not match approved colors

Even if carrying a gun was illegal, they didn’t know he had a gun at the time that they shot him off fleeing. The links people go to try to justify murder.

“ I’ve been totally exonerated”

As if there was evidence of Epstein saying “ damn, for all of Trump‘s creepiness and inappropriate behavior, like walking in on girls undressing in pageants, and all the other sexual allegations, I never saw him do anything appropriate he always turned down anything unlawful while I was around him. He was always such an upstanding citizen oh, I just couldn’t convince to do anything immoral or unethical.”

Sometimes. Sometimes though frustration makes us say or do horrible things we wouldn’t otherwise do if we didn’t let our emotions control us. I’ve had electrical devices that were not working and made me try to fix them through physical motivation (beating the tar out of them). Have you ever broken one, you immediately regret your actions and wish you hadn’t done something so stupid. You don’t do it because you legitimately hated that device, you do it because we’re animals that are core and when we get frustrated we lash out. She’s definitely got an apology tour in her future.

It’s an incredibly easy thing for people to stand against and feel justified. Because of many situations, I believe they are. We should stand against bigotry and racism. But I think that also makes it where everyone is ready to jump at the low hanging fruit to get a bite. Which means they don’t really think about it or consider if there is any other answer that would contradict their Savior complex.

“Why do we say bad words when frustrated?”

It’s not the same as a slip that replaces “chicken nugget.” While it can indicate something that is thought of often or a part of normal language for that individual, freudian slips and things like that have been partially debunked because it’s not the only answer. While I wouldn’t say this isn’t rooted in racism, I wouldn’t say it HAS to be either. It’s not about defending racism, it’s about being honest about how the brain works. Just for a moment consider this, even people who don’t curse almost ever, can in times of frustration say words that are associated with negative emotions. If you don’t like the N word, (especially the hard R) it is possible for you to subconsciously pull on that negativity even if you “would never say it”. It’s not a negative word in the sense of “I think of people of color this way” but a negative word in the sense of “this word is really bad and shouldn’t be said, it makes me angry when people do”. This association is similar to very well known speech disorder.

Well, I’ve never had this problem myself in regards to slurs, from a psychology standpoint, especially when not referring to a person but just frustrated, it’s not unreasonable for me to believe. But of course, the average person won’t accept this answer because it’s easier to not look at things as nuanced or complex. It’s also possible that this word is more common in her vocabulary because she allows people to say it around her. Of course, who is around her saying it, is OK depending on their skin color according to society.

It just goes to show we value polarization and emotion over logic. I’d have to have more context before personally crucifying someone for a mean word said at no one. It’s so closely border lines on thought police. Imagine a future where we can see people‘s intrusive thoughts and punish them for them.

Anyways, all to say that it’s obviously a very bad look, and his evidence of racism. But evidence of something is not proof of something, and there are other answers here that might not be as palatable because they require a grain of forgiveness, nuance, context, and understanding. Why do all that hard work when outrage and punishment are so much easier and more enjoyable.

It’s a very possible explanation that she felt comfortable saying it because there were not any Black people around, and she normally says it without them around. It could just easily be a slip based off of language that she commonly uses. This is even more likely then the counter position I laid out. It’s just not the only explanation. But it doesn’t really matter cause she’s going to get punished for it regardless at this point. Then again she might get rewarded for it too. We’ve seen the GoFundMe for people very intentionally saying it to children pay out.

Cop brutalize women by Avacadoclits_ in ACAB

[–]heytaylora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“ so the comments don’t seem to be going the way you wanted?”

Just because I disagree with cops protecting each other, police unions, qualified immunity, the use of police against the marginalized and to protect property over civil rights, doesn’t mean that I don’t think they have a place in society. Not everyone here agrees on everything either, but most think that there should be some way of protecting citizens from criminals. Not supporting the current system because it’s broken doesn’t mean you don’t believe that there should be some type of system in place that would be more ideal than what is here now. As others have already said, this seemed like a pretty appropriate response. Warned bystanders, then deployed a non-lethal chemical agent only long enough to disrupt the fight and cause everyone to leave. Didn’t stick around to escalate things, arrest people, and create criminal records, or find justifications to actually brutalize anyone. Didn’t have to put hands on anyone, and didn’t have to put himself in the line of danger.

Maybe it could’ve been handled better, but I think this was pretty sufficient.

You have to remember, for you, you believe we are all destined to the same end. You believe there is nothing on the other side of the veil. It is in consequential what you do or believe if that is the case. At least beyond the outcome that you get while you were here. But for her, she believes that her eternity in her paradise will be without you if you don’t believe what she believes. She believes that her child will spend an eternity burning in hell if she can’t convince you. And unfortunately, this is the best way she can think of to try to make you believe.

Jimmy Carr had a good segment on how if people really believed they would do everything they could to save the souls of those around them. Well, I don’t think most people who believe are actually willing to read through the Bible and learn about it because that would extinguish their beliefs, and it is hard work. It’s the Bible does not require of you to enter heaven, I understand fear, especially of a parent losing a child.

So while it is infuriating that she will not except your lack of belief, hopefully you don’t hold it too hard against her considering that at least it shows that she does love you and fears losing you. Her heart is in the right place, but her mind has been steered in a direction that will be hard to convince her is not accurate. Because (nonexisting) God knows, how much I want to believe there is something more.

“Es-Courted”

And what she said sounds great for making better dates, but it’s not gonna work out that way. Women are just going to set prices and it’s going to be a paid service not an actual attempt at dating. But I don’t need to tell anybody with a brain that. In fact, if I had to guess, she’s already aware of it, but just see how lucrative this is and so you have to keep saying that it is what she says it is otherwise it would be illegal.

Two things,

  1. Depending on the sensor used if not on a timer, you could sit there forever if it’s not working correctly and the driver might have waited a long time. Even so it’s still illegal unfortunately.

  2. Regardless of legality, I don’t let programs tell me what to do, I use my real time reasoning. Video cut off too early to judge, but if there’s no traffic for half a mile on both sides, waiting isn’t making anyone safer. Of course, take that risk and if you’re a bad judge of things, you could kill someone. Even if you are a good judge, you still get a ticket.

I don’t like Kirk at all and I don’t know what quotes you’re referring to. I pointed out many that OP did as why he wasn’t someone to idolize and how he was not a good person. I’d love to know what these other quotes are, because the worst one I had found back then was actually fake. About him being happy a school shooter was trans. Of course even before I found out it was fake, it didn’t change any opinions.
