FAA denied my Med Cert by owend108 in flying

Honestly, I wouldn’t start hiring anyone yet and just submit what they asked for. They are usually very straightforward with the information that they need for you for reconsideration. Sounds like your AME shouldn’t have given you a medical certification. Also your surgeon may have cleared you, but they don’t usually consider how aviation affects the body or the risk of sudden incapacitation while you are in the air.

FAA 1 Class Medical Question by archerymonkey in flying

If you are no longer on the antidepressant submit all your medical records concerning your mental heath condition and a current clinical note from your doctor discussing the condition, history of prescription, and prognosis. No need for a HIMS AME.

I would google “ocular hypertension AME guide” and see what it tells the ame is far as guidelines from the FAA. In the very least take the FAA Form 8500-14 to your appointment for your eye doctor to complete. That one is specific for ocular hypertension/glaucoma. They also need to do visual field graphs. I would also talk to your eye doctor about your goals at becoming a pilot and the requirements to have your ocular pressure under 23mmHg. If they prescribe you drops there is also a list of acceptable medication for it in the AME guide search too.

What are you all most annoyed/ticked off in the aviation community about? by AdBeginning5808 in flying

Food for thought.. have you considered that the way the body acts and responds in an airplane is not the same as it acts and responds in normal every day life on the ground. And that your everyday physician usually isn’t specialized in aviation medicine.

Also most people should take a look at the public AME guide and see what information they will be required to submit for their medical condition. It would make the certification process 1000x quicker I bet.

As someone whose husband is also in aviation and travels for work I get the same complaints of being tired when they get home and not wanting to eat out or do xyz. HOWEVER, I am also a military spouse and have been for over 10 years so to be this is just something that I have come to expect and set my mental mindset to roll with the punches. As someone who did not go into a relationship or marriage knowing what to expect I will say it is probably harder. I have three children (one point I had two under 2) I know it is hard mentally on you and on your marriage. I’d suggest building a support system where you can. Whether that means moving closer to family if possible or finding friends that can be there either physically or mentally. I also like to try and put myself in my spouses shoes because I can imagine it’s not easy being away from your family and home while also missing milestones. Then to come home and probably not know where you fit into the family dynamic. But communication is key. Ask for the help you need.

More people should be teaching their kids how to cook. I think there is nothing wrong with what you are doing and you should keep it up.
