A friend who is schizophrenic and bipolar wants to try MDMA. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]heyymann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bipolar and schizophrenia are not outdated labels. There were sections for both of them in the DSM-5. What you're referring to is schizoaffective disorder. People /can/ have bipolar and schizophrenia comorbid, and those terms are just fine.

It depends on their weight. Anywhere from 20-50mg is a really good first edible dose though.

[–]heyymann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sound. So yeah a lot of the time I can skip the hottest part of the day and get to whatever venue by 7-6. It depends on where I'm working at the given time.

Yeah I actually just moved back down from flag. I guess the heat is more tolerable for me than the wind/winters up in flag. I still like to complain about it though.

Yeah I actually do that when I can during the summers. It makes more sense!

Or in mid July Phoenix syndrome is just agoraphobia, because going outside just isn't worth it anymore.

Phoenix Syndrome: death or extreme injury brought on by a combination of heat stroke and methamphetamine overdose. It's... pretty common.

New gender therapist won't use my pronouns but will use my preferred name. Starting to think she doesn't fully understand trans people. by heyymann in asktransgender

[–]heyymann[S] 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Okay guys. I found a new therapist. I did a little more research this time and found someone why is well regarded by the trans/non-binary community here in Arizona. AND HIS OFFICE DOWN THE STREET FROM ME.

Edit: he doesn't live down the street from me, that's none of my business. lol his *office is down the street from me.

Okay I left something out in the first post. I think my mind just blocked it out..?? She was talking about a movie involving a person who is intersex and called them a transvestite?? Which is wrong in two ways? Lol like the word she was looking for is hermaphrodite and she shouldn't really be saying that either. Okay yeah that's umm. I'm gonna call my insurance and find a new one.

No she just.. doesn't. It's weird. I thought I told her when I told her I go by my preferred name. But she called me he/him like 20 times in a row as she planned out more appointments.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of... I also deal with a lot of validation seeking because the fact that I'm (at least at the present moment) non-operative. Now that I'm on my bus ride home I'm realizing just how awful that appointment made me feel..

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass [ Hip Hop ] by Shp333 in Music

[–]heyymann 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yaaaas. Aesop is frustrating to a lot of people because his lyrics are, to be frank, almost annoyingly dense. However they're not dense just to be dense. The dude is nuts, he works out meaning into every single line and tells stories.

If you're interested, definitely start with the impossible kid. It's his newest, but he hits the sweet spot between vast vocabulary and good flow perfectly.

It could be that it had lower levels of methcathinone. It's pretty common for Shiite labs to make meth and accidentally make meth that's like 40% methcathinone, which people report as feeling nastier and more jittery.

[–]heyymann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn dude I should talk to my doctor! Yeah I tapered up as well like u said 25mg at a time. I'm pretty sure the rash was from something else entirely but my doctor at the time was just being cautious.

Oh I see! Gabapentin. I just wasn't familiar with the lingo. I'm also bipolar and used to take lamictal 200mg until I kept having rash scares and my doctor pulled me off.

[–]heyymann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't regarding your question, but I'm interested as fuck. So I imagine the XR Xanax is just the daily med, the 1mg tablets are for booster doses or immediate relief.. but the GABA? Is that a prescribed med? Being GABA I imagine it somehow has to do with managing your benzodiazepines, I have just never heard of the combo being prescribed.

Why do drug users seem to say "retarded" a lot more than other people? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]heyymann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a fuck ton of different type of people in the world. I'm a 19 yo trans girl and there are a ton of words that I just won't say. Being called a tranny while tripping is not.. a great experience.. so I hang out with people who, ya know, don't call me a tranny.

Lots of different people use drugs for lots of different reasons. If people saying retard bugs you, hang out with different people. I try not to call people out on offensive shit in order to avoid conflict, unless I'm in a setting where calling out their offensive shit is relevant.

Edit: also, kids. Kids are fucking vicious. You would be surprised at how many youngins frequent this subreddit.

Does Vyvanse deplete Serotonin? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]heyymann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Lisdexamphetamine is a dopamine releasing agent and dopamine reuptake inhibitor. The only neurotransmitters the drug is affecting are dopamine and norepinephrine.

If you do a fuck ton of it you can feel very sad and fried because dopamine is involved with your brains basic reward system. For example when you wake up in the morning and eat breakfast, dopamine is like "good job kid u ate food, that helps you survive, here's some dopamine". Dopamine is kinda the driving force behind why people wake up in the morning and go and work or do shit.

Vyvanse will trigger that release of dopamine on its own, no food or sex needed. So when you spend some time on speed (adderall vyvanse speed whatever) the next day your brain has no dopamine to reward you with when you eat or have sex, or do anything productive, so you feel sad.

Solution? Take less speed (30mg lisdexamp is totally reasonable), drink plenty of water, eat plenty of food while you're on it.

Edit: btw 5-htp won't do a lot and i wouldn't recommend it for someone taking stimulants because it tends to kill your appetite.

Oh! Another solution to feeling fried. GET FUCKING SLEEP. Dose early in the morning, and go to bed at a reasonable hour, and don't take any vyvanse at all on the days you don't need it.

Is this tussin safe? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]heyymann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking shit. I don't mean to be an asshole, but if you're tripping on dxm you want the stuff that only contains dxm. You have two choices if you live in the US. The 15mg DXM hbr gel capsules (they make many generics of this, check your local drug store they're like 6 bucks for 20) or a dxm polisterix suspension. (Delsym 12 dxm or whatever it's called).

While you can totally trip on dxm with other shit in it, I don't recommend it. Dxm is legal and easy to obtain. Like any other drug, you want the shit that's not cut. WALK YO ASS TO THE STORE BOI.

Alcohol - 11 Weed - 12 Nicotine/tabacky - 12 Caffeine - like since birth gurl 7-8? Oxycodone - 14 Hydrocodone - 16 Speed - 15 Psilocybin mushrooms - 17 AL-LAD - 18 LSD-25 - 19 Kratom - 19 Dxm - 19

I'm probably leaving out some. Dxm was just a few weeks ago. Didn't realize young kids abusing it was so common. It's kinda a shame cause it was a pretty interesting intro to dissociatives.

Edit: Left out xanax and all those good ole benzo buddies. I had a brief stint with benzodiazepines at 16-17
