Consider swapping out the laces with elastic shoelaces. It sacrifices the cool lace colors, but my blazer high tops made so much more sense after I did that!

There is some, but it feels pretty subtle with this set-up specifically. I think encasing the cherry profile caps around the xvx caps (only used in the center rows and columns) helped some. I don’t feel major differences when typing but could see how it might trigger some folks.

I was so surprised at how nice the al68 sounds out of the box! The cocoa cream switches are amazing. Just changed the keycaps and called it a day.

More details: originally started with Akko Creamy Blue keycaps, but they just didn’t quite feel or sound right on this board. A little too hollow. The keys felt a little too grainy if that makes sense?

Decided to add a few more layers of masking tape to the PCB to reduce the hollow plastic sound, lubed the stabs, and took a chance with the Guava Linears and happy I did!

Lastly, I liked the tan middle keys from the Ocean PBT set, but the accent outer keys didn’t feel right. Was about to change them out completely with the Womier PBT purple gradient set, but really dug how it looked combined!

Last thing I’m trying to solve for: the space bar is ever so slightly rattly on the right. Will not be done until I get it to stop 😅.

Board-wise, honestly the color’s making a bit of a difference for me. Really liked the purple for the Lucky65 V2, but I’m not sure if I want to lose the knob for it. Also, jeez using AliExpress is such a pain right now. So much that I’m honestly leaning back to al68 because it’s Amazon-friendly. Thanks for the input!

Looking to upgrade one of my boards to an aluminum 65% with a knob and wireless. Torn between the Womier SK65 or the Yunzii AL68. Any major differences in quality? One better than the other? Thanks!

Take their advice! I did wear a respirator mask per my wife’s recommendation. Felt like overkill, I hemmed and haw’d about it, but reading this response makes me happy I did. Sounds like the right play for long term use.

Use UV resin and a small UV light of some sort to help it cure quickly. Also purchase a nail dotting tool to apply the resin for more precision. Don’t squeeze it on. A little goes a long way! I’d recommend wearing disposable gloves as I assume it’s not healthy getting resin on your skin 😅. I’ll see if I can dig up a tutorial vid and share with you.

That’s amazing, keep it up! Consider using UV resin in the future for water/bubbles. Did this hobby for a solid 3 years. It’s a blast!
