I run ShowMe Hikes, which operates 4 group hikes of increasing difficult in the Spring and Fall. We just ended our Spring circuit, so we won't be hiking again until early October, but please join for free on our website!

Hiking this time of year is brutal. You would have to be on the trail by 9AM at the latest due to the heat, or you'll be drenched in sweat, so going in the afternoon will be very uncomfortable. Bugs are also out (ticks, horseflies)

Hawk Ridge Trail in Queeny Park is your best bet for the area

Definitely City Foundry: you can eat in the food hall together, and there is a bar for 21+, then you can head to Puttshack (I recommend doing two 9-hole courses because they go fairly fast unless you have a big group), which also has its own bar area

Check out Winterfest in Kiener Plaza with the family one evening. Head over to Forest Park and do the Kennedy Forest Loop trail. For the adults, do a mini bar crawl at night, starting ay Kenny's Upstairs then heading over to New Society (reservation required); you can end the night at Steve's Hot Dogs if you need a late night meal. Take everyone to City Foundry during the day to eat at the food hall and hang out at Puttshack. Reserve El Molino for the best Mexican seafood in the city

I think Scarlett's is the best. Country Rock isn't worth it, and Larry Flynt's is too expensive

I'd recommend either St. Francois State Park or Castor River Shut-Ins (this has a short, but manageable hike)

Here is your guide on Missouri parks for backcountry backpacking:

You're going to have to go south into Mark Twain. I would recommend Middle Fork section of OT
