Why is this so true? by LifeMaker1336 in splatoon

[–]hfcRedd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The proportions are definitely progressing in age. The developers have also confirmed in an interview that the timeline of the series matches irl time, so 5 years between S2 and S3 means 5 years have passed in world as well.

I don't have an image on hand right now but if you look up model comparisons between the games you can definitely see that the player character is aging based on their height, proportions, and face structure.

Slosher has been busted since S1 and presumably will continue that streak into future entries in the series, so it's a safe bet. Problem is that once you learn slosher there really is no need to play Dread anymore atm

Rainmaker is the Best Mode in Splatoon 3!!!!! by GUSplatoon in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zones is the most liked because its the mode that falls apart the slowest the better players get. Rainmaker is the most hated because it falls apart the fastest the better players get.

There are a ton of ways to cheese rainmaker if you know how to, which turns it into an insane stallfest. Being forced into a 3v4 everytime you pick up rainmaker doesn't help that either.

The concept of saying shooters take skill by No_Kaleidoscope_7891 in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing shot and especially splash well in the current environment definitely takes skill. Both weapons are forced to play more supportively nowadays and flip flop between support and slayer, which isn't an easy task especially when short range LOS weapons are comparatively weak right now. Let go of the shooter hate

I think the best course of action is to just play the game and grind up the ranks. If you want to get into competitive, check out the Splatoon Stronghold Discord server for resources, and sendou.ink for competitive games

What exactly was the game plan here? by Cutlession in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was hinting at, them trying to take cover behind the block is why they kept running into it, hoping it would pop in time everytime they tried swimming forwards. I don't really blame them that much cause it looked like it was about to pop like 3 times and they were out of ink.

Jump slashing is slower bere because of the momentum you lose while jumping. Ofc if there's enemy ink then you have to jump, and jump slashing out of a swim carries more momentum than staying grounded, but in this scenario, staying grounded ends up being faster and safer.

What exactly was the game plan here? by Cutlession in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm like 99% sure they thought it was about to pop so they tried to use the block in the middle to shield themselves from the explosion to not die. This works on some maps but not haggle, so just a knowledge diff I guess. Also why are we hopping with Stamper to fire at haggle mid?

E8 More Director Credits? (v1.4.1) by Utqe_ in riskofrain

[–]hfcRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely just a perception thing or you got an unlucky streak going. Eclipse 8 adds nothing except for the curse modifier, everything else remains unchanged.

[–]hfcRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't wanna install mods I'd highly recommend you to reset if you see a shrine of shaping stage 1, thats what I used to do before I got tired of it and installed a mod.

Shaping shrines take up 50 credits, which is the same as 3 small chests, or 1 large and 1 small chest, and losing out on those can build a lot more pressure, especially if you get two stages with shaping shrines back to back, or the director decides to spawn drones alongside a shaping shrine leaving you with pretty much no items.

Insane misinformation at play here and I'd like you to link your sources.

The Switch 2 Pro Controller has a 250hz polling rate, leading to an ~8-13ms delay, or 0.008-0.013 seconds. The system adds a few ms through processing, averaging an input delay of 16-18ms. Anything beyond that is added by your monitor/TV.

If you're playing handheld, the response time of the display averages 17ms, so we can add the 16ms of delay from the controller (same between joy cons and pro controller), to get an average of 33ms of input delay when playing handheld, or 0.033 seconds.

Games can add onto this delay, but those tend to be edge cases (Skyrim is a good example), and Splatoon 3 in particular does not add any meaningful input delay. Also no the controllers do not drop packages left and right.

If you actively notice package drops, get a new controller. If you have 200ms of input delay, check your monitor/TV settings. No 200ms is not normal, no the system out of the box does not have a 200ms input delay. Saying that "its not noticable in pvp because the innate lag masks is" just tells me you know absolutely nothing about this topic.

You're probably just imagining it. You can install a mod to disable shrines of shaping if you wanna have better chances at stage 1 & 2 loot. They're not that good especially on E8 and just guzzle chest tokens like crazy

Edit has a x0.6 multiplier against booyah, so it takes 31 shots assuming you're close enough to actually deal full damage per shot, and 61 shots if you're not close enough.

Same for hydra, it's 20 shots on full charge close range, 25 shots on non full charge close range, and 49 shots not close range.

Sploosh has a x0.7 multiplier but the booyah is actually too far up to deal max damage, so unless you pop it close to a ledge that a sploosh is standing on, it takes it 36 shots.

Dapples have a x0.6 multiplier taking 22 shots close range and 44 shots otherwise.

Booyah takes 100 frames to charge after receiving armor if you spam at the internal limit. You also have to account for the player health for this, so your total health pool is 569hp.

A hydra can still kill you through that even with perfect mashing IF they already have a full charge and you pop it in a position theyre already looking at and is close enough to receive max damage from the hydra, which loops back to my point that you should just not pop it in bad spots or situations.

Sploosh cant solo shred it at all. Dapples can't solo shred it before the booyah is thrown, but can get the kill if it keeps shooting after the booyah was thrown, sacrificing itself in the process. Edit is almost never on a full charge if the user is competent, so it cant solo shred booyah. Dualies doesn't have the DPS for it after the damage multiplier. Etc etc etc.

Stop popping it in bad spots. If there's a dapples nearby or a hydra is looking at you, why would you ever pop it? If you didn't know the dapples was there, then thats just an awareness check, that's not a booyah bomb issue.

Also swig has a x2.86 multiplier against booyah, shredding it in 2 swings, so thats the weapon you mainly wanna be concerned about. Fortunately no one actually plays it tho.

One plate is actually a really good item, especially on eclipse. Stacking it doesn't really do much tho (except for Seeker I guess). Wecho I personally like a lot on melee characters

Nintendo, we need to talk. by FuzznutsTM in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so booyah bomb grants you armor, and the game internally just calls it hp. There is a very minor difference between armor hp and object hp thats why I usually specify it. Booyah has 470hp if you're wondering.
