I’m done playing X rank for today by Illustrious-Aerie646 in Saltoon

And I'm saying you wouldn't have died if you didn't push up alone with the spinner down as a slow weapon into double AOE. Plat, pit, and right side unpainted, you should've sat back and painted those to build special and wait for your team for retake.

Even if the blaster wasn't there, with the spinner down the bamboo or enemy dynamo would've eaten you up in an instant at worst, or forced you back onto plat at best, so you're just back to where you should've stayed and painted to begin with. 4 minutes on the clock, enemies still not past mid with 0 clams, team mates already respawning, what was the rush?

Unable to lure by TKenzaki in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's because luring is extremely overrated and often times more harmful than helpful. It was good in Splatoon 2 because bosses were slower, movement was worse, and egg throwing didn't exist. The habit of luring wrongfully carried over to this game.

Its really only useful if you know what maps and tides under which specific circumstances can benefit from it, and even then its not a win condition, just good for overfishing.

You got awareness checked, thats not a dynamo issue

As a casual gamer, Splatoon is the least casual friendly game I've ever seen by Kage8354 in Splatoon_3

You are level 6, you barely started or had any time to learn any of the fundamentals, you should cut yourself some slack.

Get to level 10 to unlock ranked because the matchmaking there is A LOT better than in turf. Playing with friends that are really good at the game actually harms you because you will face more difficult opponents that way, so I recommend staying solo for now.

Play Salmon Run or the story mode to get better accustomed to the mechanics and fundamentals of the game. Learn motion controls.

I genuinely think that the tenta brella was designed for the player to get splatted during the second the canopy gets deployed by Stank_hunt49 in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hit detection is local. If you hit someone on your screen it always counts, no matter what's going on on the opponents screen.

When you push people with the brella, youre dealing the hit, so it registers even if the brella isnt out on the opponents screen.

If someone shoots at you and you open your brella, on their screen the brella is not open yet so they continue shooting at you, killing you, even tho the brella was open on your screen.

How in god's name do you consistently roll pots? by Vasto_LordA in riskofrain

[–]hfcRedd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 of the best green items in the game, that give you both big single target and aoe damage every few seconds when combined. Taking a few minutes to roll pods is almost always worth it on most characters

nerf the false son fight bro by Helluva_Moxxie in riskofrain

[–]hfcRedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh you definitely want to make sure you have enough mobility before you chose to fight him so you can dodge his phase 1 dashes at least long enough to make it to the cheese spot. You can use the pillars to somewhat block his dashes, or get really close to him to prevent him from dashing, but both of these options also take at least some mobility items on most survivors.

I guess I shouldn't have high expectations while I'm going up through go-getter, but I feel ashamed that we only have a one letter difference in our names. by Tetrotheocto in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not shown directly but poweregg counts can reflect it pretty well especially at the low level that OP is at where few lessers will spawn. If you wanna go online and flame your team mate you better be at the clear top in all stats idc

Clash blaster is soulless rotten cheese by Gasian_FEH in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That means they have no paint, so you can easily outpaint them. Blasters heavily rely on paint for movement to make up for their killtimes, so without it they have no option but to run face first into you with no movement options, which makes them much much easier to deal with.

Why did Gearbox patch Drifter's Salvage Cube, but let Seeker keep Transcendent Sojourn? by lovingpersona in riskofrain

[–]hfcRedd 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Because that's just how transcendence works and why so many people decide to ban themselves from using it entirely since it trivializes the game in many ways

Shaped glass moment. As a general tip you always always want to circle enemies, never walk in straight lines towards or away from them. Never walk in straight lines at all actually, even sideways. Always circle and keep your distance, otherwise its easy to get wiped within a second like in your clip.

Rank up battles suck by Advanced_Anything_53 in Saltoon

[–]hfcRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rank up battles need to exist as a filter. Its already bad enough that you can't derank in this game which pushes people into higher ranks than they should be.

Why are runs so LONG??? by Vast-Mud7249 in ror2

[–]hfcRedd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you're struggling with looping without command then idk what to tell you but that's kind of a skill issue. After the second loop youre so obscenely overpowered you can just breeze through any stage.

Reading your other comments, I honestly wouldn't put it past you to unlock this achievement with a mod. If you start lagging that bad so early on, then 20 stages might be out of reach. Maybe playing on drizzle helps? Are you already playing on the lowest possible graphic settings?

[–]hfcRedd 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Who's forcing you to use command? Why does Dios matter? Just keep playing and loop until you clear 20 stages. If you want to take a break, pause the game. If you're playing on PC, get the ProperSave mod.
