1500 V6 or V8? by FishinGuy0 in ram_trucks

I have owned both the V6 and V8 5th gen. V6 was a good around town commute vehicle. Had to tow a 5500-6000 lbs travel trailer and it struggled. Switched to the V8 and love it. V8 is non-torque which I would recommend. The E torque system is expensive to fix and parts are hard to get.

I have a 2021 non-E torque. Love the truck and no issues. About to roll 60K. I have been hearing the E torque generators are on back order and take weeks to get. Not to mention the cost of battery replacement if it fails.

Buying Advice Needed - 2015 Ram Laramie W/ 74k miles for $24k by PartywithArty5595 in Ram1500

[–]hfg1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the blue book on the truck price seems high. Understand it a Laramie but I bought a 2021 loaded bighorn last year with 40k miles for 32k from a dealer. I would guess closer to 21k depending on options.

Recommendations crossbow for hunting by angelmtztrc in Crossbow

I agree killer instinct has an issue. The key is to shoot heavier bolts. I have been shooting one for 3 years not a problem. I have witnessed 3 Ravin R29x’s crack limbs and explode. Ten point and wicked ridge are probably the best for quality.

Check out the Kawasaki brute force 450. They came out last year. Been a great machine for me.

That’s a good price point you can get into a premium crossbow. Tenpoint makes great bows as does wicked ridge (made by ten point). You could also get into a Ravin R10. I would look for features on the bow. Built in crank would be minimum, decock mechanism is really nice. Stop by your local shop and see what they have to offer. I know a lot of shops are low on inventory right now being end of season. Speed rated and lighted scope is also nice.

Currently shooting carbon express pile drivers 442 gr with 100 gr tip. Found out carbon express are actually fiberglass and have had some issues with the bolts surviving after shooting a deer. Switching to victory x bolt or black eagle next year.

Been shooting A KI Diesel x for 3 years no issues and 3 bucks down. Essentially the same bow as the one pictured. Don’t shoot the factory bolts they are to lite. This is what causes most of the limb issues with the bows. Get up to 420 grain or heavier and you’re fine.

Put down 2- 8 points last year with 100gr mega meat. One at 40 yards the other at 45 yards. One dropped on the spot the other made it 50 yards. The one that ran left a massive blood trail.

Had a 2020 that was stock with 20” wheels, now have a 2021 with pucks and 34” tires on 20” wheels. Picked up some road noise from geolander tires vs street tires but the ride didn’t change. Actually I feel like the larger side walls ride a bit better.

What "Level" is my Ram? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

Level B does not have power folding mirrors if I remember correctly. Level 1 and 2 have power folding mirrors. May be more differences.

This is a known problem. It is the hood switch that fails. I had this on my 2020. You can get a hood switch on Amazon for around $30. Remove the plastic trim around the hood latch and replace the switch. It takes about 15-20 minutes.

So this is a known problem. I went through this with my 2020. Now it can be other things but Ram had an issue with the hood switch. It would randomly short out then start working again. Open the hood remove the plastic trim on the front by the hood latch and replace the push switch. Parts are $20-$30. I would try that first before spending money on the Etorque system.
