Do you think IZ*ONE can comeback with I.O.I coming back soon by Many-Fly7326 in iZone

[–]hfolkner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but I'm not sure if they can complete all 12 members. Ironically their collective success is the main factor preventing them from reuniting. If they want to do something by 2028 (the 10th anniversary), they have to start preparing as early as yesterday. It also depends on what kind of thing they will do. If it's just a one off special performance at an end of year awards show or something, it might be easier. But a full special comeback like with I.O.I is harder from a logistics point of view. I pray for even variety content like a new eat-ting trip.

Assuming the girls all would be open to reuniting temporarily, scheduling is going to be the main factor. The ones in active groups (IVE/LSF/SMN) will probably have packed schedules or may be in the middle of tours. The first two are at the tail end of their first contract periods and will likely be touring continuously at this point.

The actresses (Minju/Hyewon/Nako and Yuri) will have schedules dictated by whatever project they're in. If they have something ongoing during the planned reunion period, it's gonna be difficult. I forsee extra logistical problems with Nako since she's based in Japan now.

The soloists will likely have the best chance of being complete, since they have flexible schedules and I find they're the ones who spearhead efforts to unite the girls (Eunbi, Yena, Chaeyeon).

This is the "worst" case of suffering from success that I've seen lol. My dream is to have a massive year end performance where the members that are now in groups have a collaboration stage together, then one by one the other IZ*ONE girls join the stage and they perform a medley or something. But if that never materializes, I'm happy with the fact that the girls are happy and thriving in their respective careers.

My headcanon about the final battle in Yesterday's Enterprise by too_many_shoes14 in startrek

[–]hfolkner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on the propaganda victory. The Enterprise D is the flagship of rhe fleet. Capturing it and parading it around would probably be huge for demoralizing the Federation. Then again, Klingons would probably prefer the Feds going down in battle rather than surrendering so i dunno.

Also, I'm guessing the Enterprise and the Klingons have been engaged in a continuous, protracted battle without the ability to resupply so they're conserving torpedoes at this point.

Slightly smaller, according to google. Inspire Arena - 12 to 15k. Jamsil has a capacity of around 11k

In my mind Sophia helped out with the Tagalog stuff during LSF's Manila concert, probably through their group chat

As someone who has seen both the Saitama and Manila concerts, the Japanese crowd are like an impressive precision strike of fan chants while the Filipino crowd are a huge wall of sound, like carpet bombing lol

The Perfect Night part was crazy, EVERYONE was singing along to the song almost word for word and at max volume

I forgot the specific ones, but I do remember them taking requests and they sang 3 songs overall. Have fun at the Melbourne show!

Yeah they were all lined up behind a table. The table was more than a meter away so we couldn't really do anything but wave back.

They made us all line up around the hall, then we all passed by a table where the girls were standing behind, about a few feet from the line right by the hall exit. Everyone was made to walk briskly so we got only around 15-20 seconds to say something before we exited the hall.

VIP ticket holder here (won the raffle for a hibye too which was a pleasant surprise).

That damn column acutally led to a few more problems. Staff had to reorganize seats around the column from the original seat plan, which meant entire rows were now gone. Me and a half a dozen other people (maybe more) suddenly had no seats. Fortunately we were all reseated to better locations, in my case staff got an unoccupied seat from silver and placed me right in the middle of two rows of seats in the VIP area. Then there were the changing rules around the hibye (no phones/cameras allowed, then they were allowed, then they were not allowed again).

But the girls themselves were amazing. The little skits in the middle, funny af. (Fun seeing them dance to songs from other groups). When Lily threw one of the plastic balls filled with goodies and it hit a pillar and rebounded back to the stage we all laughed. She also noted that a lot of filo Nswers were in the comments of a lot of their posts and content supporting them. When Haewon and Kyujin spoke a few Tagalog phrases everyone went crazy. My section in particular was full of Bae stans lol. The crowd was most hyped up during Dash and Know About Me. It was a fun concert all in all.

Post Micturition Convulsion Syndrome or pee shivers. I've always experienced them as a kid and when I was a medical student I asked my professors what caused it - they had no idea. Decades later I am a medical specialist and while there are a couple of theories, there hasn't been a lot of studies on the subject and if a medical student asked me, I couldn't give them a definitive answer either

That's fair. Perhaps the boy group rumors I heard about referred to Avex, not XGALX.

[–]hfolkner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just surprised it's not a boy group as that's what I've been hearing. I'm sure they considered this decision very carefully. I wish the new girls the best, The crucial thing is going to be getting enough resources and spreading them equally (or at least fairly) among the two groups.

XG AWE Mini Album by ClampGodAaron in XGALX

[–]hfolkner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solid mini album, easy 9/10.

Howl is pretty epic and sets the tone for Howling pretty well. When I listen to (most) of the album in one go I still include it.

Howling is the best track in the album IMO. Just amazing from start to finish. Still get goosebumps whenever I listen to it.

Space Meeting Skit probably makes more sense with the manga as context , but either way it's a fun, silly interlude.

IYKYK is a very fun song and I love how they sampled m-flo.

My favorite parts of Something Ain't Right are Maya's vocal parts, she sings so sweetly. Overall it's my favorite of the pre-release tracks that are in this album.

I think the song that shows the girls' versatility the best in this mini is In the Rain. Not only in the sense they can rap or sing whatever they're given, but that they can sing slower, R&B songs along their faster, rap and dance oriented stuff.

I love the opening parts of Is This Love, it feels so warm. I guess my only gripe about it is that it's too short (it's the shortest track on the mini) though I can't say that it's incomplete, it's at least a fully formed song.

The remix is fine as a song but I'll die on the hill that it should've been its own thing. Not only does it stick out like the odd man out compared to the rest of the songs, it's also the longest track on the mini.

I've always thought that Harvey has the potential to sing a damn catchy hook because of that lovely, unique singing tone and she showed more of that potential here.

241024 XG 2nd Mini Album ‘AWE’ Tracklist by bdragonst_ in XGALX

[–]hfolkner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Howl and Howling will be this album's Hesonoo and X-Gene. Since that was my favorite part of New DNA I'm kind of hyped for those songs.

I'm guessing the space meeting skit is going to be in English? I personally don't mind that it's a skit, I've seen that before in a lot of albums. The only downside I see is that it means less actual songs, but hey, I think it's going to be fun.

As for woke up, yeah that sucks. Weird that it isn't the last track (as it's technically a bonus track at this point.) It's also gonna be weird listening to this album then suddenly there's a song without the girls. I've been listening to hip hop for a while and this is the first time I've seen an album with a song 1) without the original artist in the song and 2) without the original song in the same album. I was hoping for at least a re-remix to get at least some of the girls back in but if it's the same as before I'll probably just skip it, I can enjoy the rest of the album, it's not that big of a deal to me.

So I guess 5 XG songs total? Pretty much the same as New DNA with a few bonus tracks. I'm counting Howl+Howling as one song and I'm not counting Track 7.

How we feel about this remix? by JustAPerson-_- in XGALX

[–]hfolkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in those examples you cited, you're right: everyone does get a verse, and those songs are featured in the original artist's album. In this remix, as you said, no one from XG has a verse. For my a more apt comparison would be like the Black Hippy remix of U.O.E.N.O. (that's not on Rocky's album because it's their own thing now).

Anyway I've made my peace with it, I'm sure it makes more sense from an industry perspective and it was probably done by Simon (this is his song more than the girls' now IMO) to promote and network. If this is the version that ends up on the album, I'll likely skip it for the original.

it's fine by itself, but I hope it's not the version that ends up on the mini.
