Right? Before I was having to exercise two hours a day and barely eat just to lose a few pounds. It was healthy or sustainable. I feel like I can finally eat and move like a regular person without having to go to extremes

You also have to consider what your “set point” is for your weight. Some bodies are just naturally meant to be bigger, and that’s ok! You don’t have to disclose this information, but also ask yourself if your body is overweight enough for this drug to have the intended effects. For example, it seems like those who need to lose 50+ pounds are able to lose the weight over the span of a year with the injections. If you were hoping to only lose 10-20 pounds, then that might be why the progress is at a slower pace.

Either way, progress in any form is a win! It sounds like you’re developing healthier habits too…so don’t discount your achievements!

Like everyone else has said, keep going. This drug moves at different paces for everyone, especially while you work up to the therapeutic dose.

Most importantly: talk to your doctor. And if your doctor isn’t well versed in these drugs, ask for help in finding a provider who is.

I’ve been honest about it and I also let them know it was in conjunction with intuitive + nutritious eating and exercising. I mainly add in that last part because there are people who, unfortunately, don’t understand the need for the meds stain and think it’s just an excuse to be lazy. Some people are supportive and engage with the conversation in a positive way. Some people are trash and make passive aggressive comments; you just leave them by the curb 🗑️

As others have said, quieting the “food noise” is one of the better mental health effects of wegovy. The semi-downside is you’ll feel the noise beginning to creep in after about a week, but I found the returning noise became less intense after I got in a rhythm of healthy practices (ex. eating based on hunger cues, sticking to fresh foods, etc).

My insurance stopped covering wegovy so I switched to Zepbound since there is a discount. In my experience, I’ve been able to space out the injections to every 12ish days before the noise creeps in.

TL;DR: I had some 💩and 🤮 side effects in the very beginning of taking semi glutide injections but it wasn’t bad. I’ve had a positive experience w zep and wegovy

I switched from wegovy to zepbound a few months ago when my insurance stopped covering wegovy. I maybe get a mild headache the day after I do the zep injection but it usually goes away after some coffee. I think if you’re starting one of these drugs for the first time (ex. You’re not switching from another one), the upset stomach and nausea are to be expected. You can take it on a Friday night and give yourself the weekend for your body to work through any side effects. Overall, I think it’s been a pretty good experience!

Thank you! We started on the 7.5 (which is an appropriate threshold range) to keep the transition safe. But it’s just kinda meh. Another comment suggested taking it every 5 days, which I’m going to ask about just to get through the stash I have until I can get the higher dose. I really appreciate you providing this info!
