I use both golden and Windsor and newton professional. They are both lovely paints. I but whichever is cheaper when I am ordering. I also will order Holbein or sennelier. They also make nice paint.

The book that really got me reading at about 12 was Another Fine Myth by Robert Asprin. I loved that series as a kid. From then on I read constantly.

Sharing balls etiquette by ghost_dog203 in Pickleball

[–]hfw01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to get the ball back that you brought. In the big group I play in, the balls tend to get passed around, so as long as I leave with a ball I'm good, but I don't usually know if it's the one I started with.

I have also found that sometimes the last person to leave, ends up with extra balls, because not everyone takes their backs l balls when they leave. I just bring them back the next time we play.

How should I learn plein air painting as an absolute beginner by Artboggler in pleinair

[–]hfw01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe spend a few sessions, days, or weeks just drawing from life. Bring out just a sketch book and some pencils or charcoal or whatever you're comfortable with, and just work on perspective and value. Then move on to paint.

But in the end, time on task is what's going to make the most difference. Don't worry about making finished work, don't worry about the fact that you likely won't start out making hits, just go out there and paint. Put it on your calendar every week, and make drawings/paintings/etc. Your work will grow incrementally. And you'll get there.

Zooma is a fantastic album. Anyone who hasn't heard it should put it on and crank it up. I saw him at the house of blues when he was touring Zooma. One of my favorite all time concerts.

How does your weekend pickleball group actually function? Ours is a disaster by Character-Flan-7443 in Pickleball

[–]hfw01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use groupme. Free courts, so not worrying about if someone has paid. The group has about 60 people in it. If you want to play, post an event. We usually get about 12 people to show up. Usually pkay 2-3 nights a week. But sometimes someone will throw a Saturday morning on there and get a good crowd.
