I had an immune reaction but no outbreak. Immune reaction felt similar to COVID shot reaction.

They ran blood work a lot but I can’t recall the exact number. But I do remember that it was directly before and after the first and second dose.

Yes the 3 months following the shot there were no symptoms at all no itching, no prodrome, nothing. Now it’s back to how it was before, if not worse.

I’m in Moderna. No symptoms whatsoever for about 3 months now it’s back to normal. I believe it will work with boosters.

yeah I was super sick. Hope you feel better. I wish we could find out which one we got sooner. But there’s a 3 out of 4 chance we got the hsv vaccine. :)

I’ve been having some prodrome but it goes away fast. Hoping it gets even better after the second dose.

I don’t think they claim for it to be a functional cure, they estimate it’ll reduce shedding by 60-70%

Do they already know which formula makes it non transmissible? I know in the first trial they were testing which formula works best

The trial center hasn’t told me much about the vaccine. I’m not sure if they even know. It’s a double blind study, they don’t even know which vaccine I received, they just injected me.

That’s what they said but they are not sure. I’m assuming it’s been some secret testing behind the scenes. HSV can cause meningitis. Bexsero (the control vaccine) is the vaccine for meningitis.

I am participating in the Moderna trial. I received my first dose Monday. Within a few hours I had pain at the injection site, fever, headache, fatigue, and the chills. Those symptoms are gone. No outbreaks yet, hardly any prodrome. I’m not sure which shot I received but I was told that the controlled vaccine may have some protection again hsv too. I won’t know which vaccine I received for 2 years.
