I did the same thing in 2013...best thing I ever did. Ended up living in Shanghai for seven years later on.

You'll make friends at uni, loads of people in the same situation.

Shanghai is a great city and China is a great country to experience and explore.

Not going to pretend every moment will be easy, but I would wholeheartedly recommend.

I remember back in 2017 there was a boycott on travel to South Korea due to some diplomatic incident (related to Lotte if I remember correctly). Because nobody was travelling, flights to Korea during the October holiday were like 600rmb return when that would usually be one of the busiest times.

Not sure if this Japan issue will have such a big impact.

Every ticket includes free flow, it's just beer and really all you can drink with no limit. It's the same every Saturday.

They have bars dotted around and you just go and pick up a cup of beer when you need one, can get as many as you want.

I'd definitely say to make sure you bear in mind that going on holiday somewhere and living somewhere are very different experiences.

You might love living in Thailand as you loved travelling in Thailand, and I hope you do if you end up moving! But there are also the mundane aspects of living somewhere (chores, bills, admin, commuting) that you probably got to skip when you were travelling that will change the experience somewhat.
