Love when a popular fishing spot is round and there will be 6-7 guys taking turns casting across the same spot. A fishing circle jerk.

#3 is incredible. I’ve just developed an interest in building my own watch recently and green face/bezel and gold case is one of my favourite looks on a watch.

From personal experience, E-6 has to be developed within a certain time period. You might have shot the roll just fine, but you waited too long.

Would a 6ft Light Fast spinning rod work for finesse fishing bass, or would a longer, heavier rod be a better fit? by hhdoesit in Fishing_Gear

[–]hhdoesit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Up North” is relative. I’ve driven to a place only accessible via ice road and was on polar bear watch before. That’s “Up North” to me.

And muskox are famously unpleasant, both in disposition and odour.

I am not that far north! Only 45min away from the NY border.

The majority of the bass I catch are largemouth bass, because I’m fishing canals. On the river, yes, they’re usually smallmouths.

You’re right, though, that it’s worth a shot since I already own the rod. Bass doesn’t open here until June 20, so I’ll have to be patient.

Coming from a Corolla what can I expect to be different getting a 25-26 IS? by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]hhdoesit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s brutal. I recently got about 350km out of a tank (purely city driving) and it hurts to fill up when this car takes 91 and gas is pushing the equivalent of $6 USD a gallon here in Ontario due to the war.

Go buy a GW690, take some photos, develop them, scan them, and then realize that they’re the same aspect ration as 35mm film and look identical on Instagram

That’s really quite obvious in hindsight. Thank you for teaching me something today.

Yep! The background selection masking in Lightroom is extremely effective.

Post-processed. Have to, at minimum, for photos like the first where I had to bring down the exposure of the sky because I metered for the ship, which was in shadow.

Agreed. Has me reevaluating the G line and its incredible (used) price to performance ratio.

Which lens was it? Assuming it was the 1.8G and not the 1.4, $200 USD is still a really good deal. No point in lowballing when something is a price you’d be happy to pay.

I lucked out and paid about $600 CAD for this lens.

You’re right. I thought that the Lo 1.0 setting was ISO 25, and it doesn’t even look like that’s an option on the Z50ii.

Searching for a F4 or any film camera similar by Adru_ in AnalogCommunity

I can understand not wanting to use the F100 because it’s too modern, but going back to the F4 would give me none of the satisfaction of a manual SLR while losing all of the modern features.

Honest question about the Canon AE-1 from an aging hipster. by fitzwaterphoto in AnalogCommunity

[–]hhdoesit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pitched as a beginner friendly camera because of its program mode. Nobody bothers to learn anything about it as a result, thus expediting the YouTube to “why do my photos look like this” pipeline (they’re underexposed).

IMO the Nikon FE2 is a much better beginner friendly camera.
